Would you rather?

Just been asked this by a fellow blue.

Would you rather:

1. Beat Bayern 3-0 and top the group, get an easier draw in the last 16, and send out a message to the rest of Europe.

Or

2. Beat Arsenal 3-0, close the gap to 3 points and send out a message to the rest of the prem?

I chose the later, obviously we'd all like both but if you had to chose which would you rather?

Beat Dortmund 3 nil, Arse to get smashed by Napoli and we breeze past them on Saturday with an extra days rest!
Not sure you grasp the concept of ''or''. Also; Dortmund?

Much rather give Bayern a good kicking and scrape a draw on their turf. Look at their recent form. I'd be happy with second string getting a draw. I want us to do over arsenal though on Saturday. Well and truly no questions asked. In similar vein to what we did to spuds.

I am going to go with 1. I know everyone went with 2, but I feel it would be a huge boost to get an easy draw and currently we will get teams which are extremely tough to beat. We need to make a statement in the CL.

For the Premier league, next game isn't make or break. Still more than half the games to play.

That said I can understand everyone wanting to beat Arsenal.

Beating Arsenal is the priority.. all day every day!

Premier league is the priority.

Before we even consider conquering Europe we have to shut up the media in this country.

Therefore the Premier League is a priority we can not afford to go another 34 years without winning it, the sooner we make inroads into the totals achieved by the Scousers and our nearest neighbours the better it will be.

2, because it's the only one that is realistic.

-- Tue Dec 10, 2013 8:59 am --

The thing is, Dortmund have been struggling with injuries all season so far but a few have come back into the first team and another is back in training, by the time February rolls round they could be close to full complement (bar their 'out for the season' injuries) for the first time since the CL Final and they will be as tough a draw as almost any of the group toppers. So this "easy draw" might not happen.

I don't think we're currently good enough to "make a statement in the CL". You can't force that, it happens when you're good enough.

I agree with Grey though I'm not worriedit will be another 34 years.

We need a few more Premiership titles under our belts before we can seriously think about progressing in Europe.

It's a learning curve. This is only our third year in it. The 'rags' were in it 6-7 years in a row before they won it in 1999.

We need to feel champions of our own backyard a few more times. Also, a loss tonight will be a lot less damaging than a loss at the weekend and a win tonight (very unrealistic to think about it really) would be less important in terms of outcomes than a win at the weekend.

Arse.

I'd make Arsenal the priority this week.

We should have more than enough confidence as a squad to take on all comers in the next stage of the Champions league. I think if we qualify second a lot of teams getting first won't want us.

I knew the first response would be both, well done mate, great input

It's the real world

Even when given two options and asked to pick one you can't. Do you ever have anything interesting to say?

Unbelievable. It must take you hours to choose which socks to wear in the morning...and then you wear one of each.

Every pair of socks I have are black. Makes thinking easy.
