No. I'd probably name a dog after a player though.

Did this, last dog was Danny after Tiatto. Great name for a great dog.

Never been tempted to name my kids after a player. Like the idea of previous poster though who named his daughter Summer after Buzzer. Nice and subtle.

With English, Irish, Scottish etc sounding surnames, the foreign names won't cut it, they'd sound ridiculous, imagine Sergio or Mario with an 'O' apostrophe surname?! You could maybe slip one in as a middle name though? They're on paper but up to boy's/girl's discretion as to whether it's ever used.
