Wrexham thread

Good on 'em. Fucking love the story. Was talking about it today. When the owners bought the club it was a fairy tale. Didn't come up first season, everyone still happy and wishing them all the best. Came up second season, they even built a new stand and put money in - great story. Got promoted again......cunts, cheats, moneybags, FFP.

Yep - Brits fucking despise success. Green eyed monsters out in droves.

I hope they come up again.
 
County win the league and nothing on Sky but Wrexham get the headlines because of the Hollywood owners.
 
I think the next couple of years will be interesting for them as they progress, I believe they could reach the Championship if they continue their upward trajectory but that's when the shit gets real with money needed.

League 1 will be tough next year due to the teams that will be in it, Wrexham currently sign a lot of established/experienced players from higher leagues but on good money, like Paul Mullin, Steven Fletcher, Jack Marriott, James McClean etc so for that model to continue they'd be bring in Championship players who most likely will be on good money anyway.

My m8 is a Wrexham fan so happy for him, I'm not convinced on Parkinson but we'll see.

A podcast I listened to had an interesting take on them, that all the interest from Tik-Tok, Aviator, Expedia to the TV series is not because of the town, or the club but Reynolds & McElhenney and let's be honest Reynolds.

If they decide to cash in on their investment (for which they are charging 3%) and sell the club to say a Hedge Fund the interest would wain, especially from American viewers.

That being said I expect them to be in the teams in the division who will be top 10.

Slight technical point, Stockport are promoted, they haven’t won the league yet, BUT your point still stands, County ignored for the celebrity club… because… clicks/eyeballs.

Not the same like it used to be, the internet has ruined a lot of things with football reporting.
 
A lovely story and great to see them promoted. For all the miserable cunts pissing on their parade, take a fucking day off. I don’t understand that mindset.

They are cheats, they have film stars, they this, they that. Well, non doom merchants think it’s great, so Wrexham, don’t bother your Welsh arses. The majority think it’s great. Some people can’t help themselves. Best avoided. Who wants cunts like that around anybody?

It’s interesting. On RAWK there are posts like ‘fantastic achievement’ and ‘a lovely story’. In the main they wish them well.

I wonder if that will change if Wrexham ever dare challenge Liverpool for something?
