Wrexham thread

They were in the conference not long ago they could be in the premier this time next year! Because they will spend big
I think they will focus on STAYING in the Championship and consolidating their position, rather than throwing around the cash.

They have some aging ex-top flight players who have done well in the lower leagues, but the Championship is another story.

They have a ground they’re developing.

They are not going to try to run before they can walk and I think Phil Parkinson is smart enough to know the Championship could be the hardest league in the world outside the Prem!

46 games ranging from some cloggers to some Prem teams who fell short. If they were even in with a shout of the playoffs, I think they’d be ecstatic, given the competition and teams coming down.

If I were R&R, I’d be telling Parkinson and the Board that we needed to be aiming to consolidate, accumulate some funds, and start building a Championship platform for the push higher ovee the next few years.

Parkinson is a seasoned manager in the lower divisions, and I’m sure he’s well aware of the task ahead of him and his players

Nahh you don't have that mentality as a club a team or you start going backwards they should be pushing for top 6 minimum because when a winning team like Wrexham have been winning continually promoted 3 times you don't want to change up your thinking as a club..

Be a lot tougher in the championship due to PSR and coming up against the teams with parachute payments from the PL but fair play to them and the owners. No mean feat for 3 successive promotions.

You can say what you like to the players, but my post was in response to R&R “spending big” to try to get promoted. It’s not going to happen!

Sure, they’ll spend, as they have each season to help get promoted, but this is literally a different league! You’re not “spending” your way into the PL, esp not on the back of building from a shoestring budget.

If you’ve seen anything of R&R, they’re living on cloud nine on their success, but they have already talked about how a few million bucks to lift Wrexham off the floor and bring valuable sponsorships to the club is NOTHING compared to the money involved in the Championship!

Every Championship club and player dreams of the Premier League and everyone starts on 0 points. But, in reality, every club knows their odds and it’s about surviving in the $100M club that drives the project from here.

However, it’s going to be a party for the ages when the final whistle blows!!

Jamie Vardy on a free next season, perhaps????

KDB to supply him??? ;-)

It’s not pocket change, but…

Yes, they’ll get LOTS AND LOTS OF MEDIA ATTENTION for their accomplishment, unless they get large, multi-year sponsors, they can’t push out the boat on signings and wages in multi-year contracts!

Well, they CAN, but that would be foolish and they’re not run by fools!

Great. Good on them. That is an achievement by any reasonable standards. They are almost scousers, granted, but that aside really pleased for them. A boon for the region as well
