Bit of a mixed bag yesterday but ultimately a point away at Arsenal is a point we didn't get last season and there's still loads of room for improvement. Moving Park to 8 to accommodate Viv at 10 allowed us to be overrun in midfield particularly in the first half. It's a very attack minding line up and we won't get away with it against top sides unless Yui had the season of her life! It could be a lot of fun against weaker opposition though. Also think that Viv linked up really well with her teammates and her forward passing was great at times.
If the 10 spot is Viv's I think Roord will be able to bring a bit more experience to the 8 role than Park does currently. I don't really see how we fit them all in but it probably doesn't matter as three world class players for 2 positions is about right and chances are they will never all be fit. Jess could also go back to her original position on RW in some games (especially as Fujino is still very young and acclimatising to English football).
Other than that, Bunny was having to come too deep yesterday but I thought Hemp looked great.
Yamashita will be fine but with the risky way we ask our keepers to play I felt v nervous when she has the ball at her feet. I'm not really sure why we've demoted a young keeper, full of confidence, who has a year under her belt of playing that way and won PFA goalie of the season doing so. I know Keating is still very raw but it feels quite a backwards step.
One of the most difficult tests is out of the way though and it was a great atmosphere at the game. 40k will be about right this season as the novelty wears off a little for neutrals and day trippers at Emirates who were bumping it closer to 60k last year. What was noticeable to me was that it was louder than last season as everyone there was a fan and the songs were less confined to the singing section as the whole crowd knows them now. Will be great to see that happen at other clubs over time too.
Eidevall is a total embarrassment and any Arsenal fan I speak to wants him gone asap.
