WSL Aston Villa (A) 18/05/24:

Commentators talking about City’s lack of desire, knowing what they needed to do, score goals. It was more about Villas keeper, their defence and the woodwork, plus missed chances.

If they want to highlight a lack of desire, look towards M16 and the shit show the ragettes turned in.
I have turned it off now. We showed the same desire we have shown all season. Our play is generally controlled and slow, we always have a fair amount of back and side to side passing. We also miss a huge number of chances. Taylor was the same today on the sidelines as he has been all season, stood emotionless, arms folded. It is generally Mahon who gives out encouragement or orders.

Cold hard facts, financially CL qualification means little and based on history we do fuck all anyway.

Chelsea win the league, Rags and Arse won trophies. All have more to show.
Those are indeed cold hard facts, sadly true though.
Wonder if we will do our usual out in the first round in next year's champs league.

The Club have just announced four players leaving. Roebuck, Stokes, Mace and Angeldahl
All out of contract. It will be really interesting to see if anyone else leaves. Today showed again Miedema would be a top signing on a free. Given how well Mary Fowler and Laura Blinkilde-Brown played & with a fit again Roord and Shaw will the likes of Coombs and Kelly accept reduced playing time?

Sadly it was over before today…… Arsenal game was our undoing in the end, but hey,
Let us get behind the Women’s Squad, and would love to see Steph involved next season.
Don’t go with the Champs League worth nothing….. worth a great deal for the development of the team, and have a feeling ( re visit this post at end of next season) we will kick on next year after the bitter disappointment…. With or without the present manager, who has probably had his day!!!!

Not a great performance but ultimately it came down to the Arsenal game and being 1-0 up with minutes left and only needing a point is the game we threw it away. Hopefully they learn from that and improve moving forwards and go again next year.
