I would say, more like Rodders.
More like a David Silva for me

He's overseen a very troubling time for our women's team. How much responsibility he takes for that only those involved really know (White's comments were quite telling on what she thought of him). We're starting to see some positivity now though and the squad all seems to be pulling in the same direction for now. Still some concerning rumours flying around over departures but can't really put that on him either. I still think he's far too reactive and slow to make changes. Take today, for instance. We could all see that we were really struggling in that 2nd half. The press that had worked for the 1st 45 minutes was non-existant and it was wave after wave of Chelsea pressure yet he sat there until the 80th minute to make any changes. Every time the camera showed him he was sat next to Goater in the shadows. Was pretty obvious that from the hour mark Angeldahl needed to come in to stiffen up the midfield or even Mace as she's played teh DM role before but he just sat there.Bit of credit to Taylor too. Gets slagged off a lot on here, but credit when it's due.
Maybe the players that left were the problem, like I said in the other thread, we have a far more balanced squad now than 18 months ago, with players focussed on "team", and not "self", some of them thought they were Manchester City. The only one that has left that I wish was still here is Walsh, why, because she would allow Hasegawa to be more expansive. He's overseen a very troubling time for our women's team. Isn't the Arsenal game at home too ?Very good 1st half, our press was top notch. Little Jess on the half turn in midfield was taking the ball just like Foden in front of their defensive line and Committing and ghosting past players before popping it off. Great assist and really Shaw should have scored from another Park assist but didn't hit it across the keeper.
2nd half we sat in which was a bit counter intuitive considering how well we did 1st half. Admittedly I doubt we could press like that for 90+ mins. But we were bloody resilient. Greenwood got rag dolled several times by that Columbian Clarence the cross eyed lion but didnt get a foul for a clear pull back. The following rash challenge was lucky not to give a penalty away even though she lost control of the ball and exaggerated the contact flopping over.
They rough housed us all over the pitch. Shaw got clattered by Carter which I thought was a clear yellow, half an hour late and nowhere near the ball in the air. Much like the elbow in the chops off Wubben Moy last week which should have been a red. Then Cuthbert rattled Hempo before going through the back of Hasegowa. She should have been booked then rather than given carte blanched to do it again later when she did get a yellow. Yet Kelly after being roughly upended twice was yellow carded for a real innocuous challenge, her first foul of any note.
I didn't like the way we surrendered midfield and wide areas to them and allowed them to continually pump balls into the box. We couldnt get a decent header clear for a lot of them and I thought its law of averages one of those balls was going to drop to one of theirs 6 yards out sooner or later. When it duly happened it was Kiara to the rescue and backs to the wall we clung on untill the end. Bit lucky but ill take it for the amount of times they've turned us over with dodgy penalties given for them and stone wallers not given for us. But especially for that bent cow who reffed the home game and sent Greenwoid off for fuck all and Hempo for telling her she was a shit ref and them stuffing an injury time equaliser against our 9.
Just heard Emma Hayes commenting on Sky. Unusually terse for her. I think she's feeling the pressure.
They lead us on goals scored by 2, that's all.
Two mahoosive games for us in the WSL against the Arse away and Ragettes at home. If we can win those, we can win this league. Chelsea have to also play those two I think. So fingers crossed they may drop points.
Well done Ladies, top effort that, ended their 3 year unbeaten run at home in the League. Got to give Gareth a bit of credit too, he's got the girls at it for sure. Let's keep it going after the international break.
