WSL Chelsea (H) 08/10/23:

I don’t disagree. “Common sense” isn’t a uniform thing though. That ref woke up yesterday and chose violence.

How do you write in law what timewasting actually is? If it’s only delaying the restart of the game, then 26 seconds could be lawfully too long.

In reality, you can see she was looking for options to pass the ball. After half an hour or so. Crazy decision to send her off.
For her overall performance, she should be given several weeks off to reflect, it's not very often that the media and various pundits are unified in their defence of anything "City", but they were, quite a remarkable feat for her.

Guessing the ref has to submit a match report? Anyone know who receives it and keeps it? Would it be the WSL or the FA?

Gallagher on Ref Watch absolved her, of course.

Asking this because I feel like a referee's report should be accessible by the public and wondering if there's anyway to see it. Not got the foggiest where I'd even start though. I'm sure they're kept locked away though anyway.

Apparently the clubs get the report now, so at least they know what's supposed to have happened, but the fans remain in the dark.

Another thing on refs... I remain of the opinion that Stuart Attwell 'belongs' to somebody and occasionally gets them the results they want to happen. I've been of this opinion since he managed to not only continue his career after the 'ghost goal' incident, but get to the top of the ladder. And then give the Fernandes/Rashford offside goal against us.

The ghost goal incident struck me as him carrying out an instruction, as if it was a test. "You do this, we'll get you to the top". Well he did it.

Sunday's game felt the same to me. I reckon that ref will be reffing in the men's Premier League within two years having performed as she did.

Basically, if you wait 26 seconds to take a free kick, you allow the referee to. make a decision. Then dissent is dissent.

The thing is, that 26 seconds was basically from when the foul was given. The referee jogs upfield and then blows her whistle for the kick to be taken after about 12-13 seconds. So really, Greenwood took about 13-14 seconds to take the kick.

Which is nothing. Dermot Gallagher is an arsehole. And without knowing what the dissent was, how can he justify it? If she was sworn at, or even to, fair enough. If she was called crap or a cheat, fair enough. If people were going to her to try and understand what she was doing, then it's different. But we'll never know, because that's all kept hidden from us.
