WSL Everton (A) KO 12:30 Sun Dec 15th

No threat upfront here with Mary as the point of attack, and lack of awareness at the back, and losing too many 50/50s, and Park and Roord not getting on the ball enough. Apart from that …

Good save from Keating at the end there. Hard to tell from this angle, but could she have done better for their first goal? Her footwork seemed a bit slow, but I’ve not seen a replay back yet.

Good number of blues here anyway.
Come on Gareth, time to work your magic …

It's easy to look at the players we are missing from the starting lineup and blame that but there's no way in the world we should be 2 goals down to Everton. It could conceivably be more. We've created almost nothing. The volley from Roord and the handball shout (don't think it was over the line and maybe proximity went against (if the officials even saw it)). Fujino looks sharp but has no left foot so always cutting inside. Jess Park isn't really a winger anymore so is also coming inside. So relying on our fullbacks to provide the width but then there's nobody to get on the end of crosses without Bunny and we're really lacking physicality in there. Fowler is not really a #9. When she's dropping deep she just has to lay the ball off backwards as she is not strong enough to hold the defender off but is then not making the turn and run quick enough to maybe get the next pass.

Lily's pace will help as will taking off Kennedy. I don't think I've ever seen such a poor centre back performance from an experience player - early goal needed, Everton are not that good if we can play faster.
