Have watched it a load of times, nothing hits Lewis' foot. I wish it had, but nothing hits itRico’s foot is hit by the opponent’s which forced his leg up The ref didn’t see it all he turned and saw the high foot another expample of piss poor VAR

Cherki was slow, poor first touch and continually gave the ball away.
Very surprised but first game. I’m sure he will improve.

Ricos reaction right after the contact is one of someone who was guilty.
He knew he did something wrong so reacted the way he did. With the faking he was hurt.
Overall the performance was average at best, first half was clearly better. Then we slowly got worse with the ponderous play we see most of the season.
However it shouldn’t be judged or put under a microscope. To early.

Very hard to judge anything really. It is pre season or more games at 5he end of a long hard season. Pretty lucky to going in 2 up as they should have had a few but we did have a weaker 2nd string defence.
Reijnders Looked quality though went quite after Rodri came on, Cherki not so much but very very early days yet.
We need the real Haaland back as still a lack of a goal threat about us with Savinho poor yet again and Marmoosh blowing hot and cold, today cold.

I respectfully disagreeRaising your foot off the ground is dangerous play.
If you slide tackle and have your other foot raised as protection then clubber the opponents knees incidentally . It'd be deemed a red card. Its no different here

The blistering heat didn't make things easy, and Wydad were quite aggressive and awkward opponents, so I guess a 2-0 win is acceptable, even if it all got a bit tedious at times ...... Foden and Doku took their goals well .. and Doku, Foden and Haaland should have added further goals over the course of the game .... although, to be fair, Wydad could easily have had two or three goals themselves in that first half.
Wasn't really that impressed with Cherki's performance, but Reijnders did well and looks a good buy ....
Rico Lewis has a habit of marring his performances, that's probably why he gets so few games, and he'll definitely remember this game ..... if he'd only kept his foot down after clearing the ball he would probably have dodged the red card, but he did catch the Wydad player in the face as they both slid around on the ground, so he can have few complaints that he got his marching orders, because the vast majority of referees are simply gonna see that as being dangerous play ..... mind you the ridiculous earlier challenge on Marmoush was definitely worthy of a red card too, because that too,was 'dangerous play'!

Is that from City or the officials ;-)I don't know why we played Marmoush without Haaland and then didn't play him as a number 9. But I guess this is pre-season, so we're likely to see a lot of mad shit.
