No actually because I think he's on the decline, not as good, and i'd like to see 4 centerbacks that we already have (dias, gvardiol, khusanov and reis) ahead of him. So we gotta get rid of a centerback, at least 1. That plus the fact we ALSO have 2 other centerbacks who are both homegrown on the squad (ake & stones) points directly towards Akanji going imo

A lot would think differently if his fuck ups v Inter and Spurs cost us a CL & 4 in a row but for our keepers.

Khaldoon is / was unlikely to say anything but that. Akanji, it could be argued, has had a long break over the past 6 months!

Akanji can get fucked with that. He may be right, but why say it publicly? Some blues are paying a fortune to go out there and watch it, the least the club can do is have the right attitude.

You'd think they'd want to get back to it ASAP anyway after the horror season, a chance to start a fresh.

As Khaldoon said, this is the start of the new season and not a continuation of last - yet a senior player is whinging about it before it's even started. Not just any senior player. One that spent a lot of the second half of last season injured.

Can't imagine the club are best pleased with the comments. Especially only a week or so after our chairman has been styling it as a good chance to get back to winning ways.

rodri said that at the back end of a 65 game season and if he had another 65 game season and said it he would have a legitimate gripe, having had the season off i assume his attitude would be somewhat different and akanji has also had a 3 month break mid season as well, the only players who could claim tiredness and have a legitimate gripe would be gvardiol, nunes and gundogan as they are the only ones who havent had any sort of a break within the season
