ah fair enough, so it was out of its 12 month warranty then? Sounds wierd about the GPU, probably caused by the same problem that red rings is caused by, solder melting from the motherboard onto the GPU

No idea really, my display just starting going blue and green. The picture would still display but have blue n green all over it, changed the cables, tried different TVs but still the same. Costing me £53 to get it fixed :(

i'm on my 4th one now. this one has been properly fixed, it's a 2008 model, rather than the 06 and 07 models with the flaw. keep it off the floor would be my advice to anyone with one.

Keep it in a ventilated space. Mine is on the floor but stood on end so the fan isnt sucking the carpet in, and the air vents are uncovered. I'll reserve my judgement on the 2008 model, we'll see what happens in the next 2 years!!

Mines gettin picked up 2morrow night, UPS refuse to pick up from a PO BOX address which my work is. Idiots. I've seen UPS trucks on site here before, i've got a take friday afternoon off now...what a gutter :)

playstation kick ass for customer service, phoned them up saying the ps3 wasnt reading discs, at 6.00pm; 8am the next day there was a courier with my new one and picking up the broken one. Fannytastic.

It was pretty much same for me, I rung microsoft at about 2pm, they came at 10am next morning

Im getting a ps3 too but only because im getting one for a good price, keeping my 360 though since the game catalouge is far better.

Most games i'm bothered about are/will be coming out on both now and i've used to the Xbox controller. It'd be a waste of £300 i reckon to get a PS3 now.

i've got Fifa 08, Euro 08, rainbox 6 vegas 2, gears of war, assassins creed, guitar hero 3...i think that's it anyway, i traded a bunch in awhile ago.

My brothers nagging me to get madden '09 but i can't really be arsed cos he only wants me to get it so he can batter me.
