YaYa - Can We Live Without Him?

I regularly trawl through other footy forums and Yaya is probably the player that fans of other teams covet the most.
There are plenty of them who given the choice of picking one of our players would plum for Kompany, Aguero or Silva and even Zab is getting some love lately, but the name that pops up most is Yaya and for good reason.
He gets labelled lazy at times but I'd rather have him and his end product than someone like brave Scotty Parker who makes a living from not being lazy and running around a lot looking tired with ultimately no end product. Give me Yaya every time.

Yaya Toure the Frustrating Genius
It is indeed very rare to see a player with such a vast spectrum of talent and capabilities. Yaya toure had shown his versatility and technically competence whilst playing at barcelona but being at city has now unleashed him, giving the opportunity to showcase his special talents as a footballer.

So let me proclaim this: Yaya Toure is the Best player in the Premier League and the 4th best player in the world. Andres Iniesta is ahead of him only by pedigree and track record of incredible achievements. Yaya is actually a more capable footballer.

There are very few footballers today that has the natural ability to see the full picture in games. The ability to understand and be aware of player positions with respect to yours, player movements, routes and player intentions. Yaya toure is one of those few that sees everything on the picture allowing him to make all kinds of passes and plays.
I actually believe he is one of the most creative in the premire league, even more than silva but he does not find himself in positions to display this ability because of the managers tactical plans and inclinatations.

I always wondered why a hippopotamus is so quick despite its ernomous size, the same query can be applied with yaya. His ability to cover yards with few strides is incredible- he is so powerful and there are few players that can match in one - to - one tussle.

I have said in this forum that frank lampard is a genius in making runs into the box and getting himself into positions to finish. Yaya, i have to submit is not as good as lampard in getting into them positions (but he is still better that 99% of midfielders) but as a finisher, he is one of the best in the league. Let me say it again to make myself clear- Yaya toure is one of the best finishers around.

However, for most games i find myself shouting at yaya because i believe he can do a lot more physically. I do admit that he cannot be as energetic as tevez for instaance because of his massive frame but sometimes it seems that he jugs around and is only effective with the ball and not without it.

Playing him as a holding midfielder actually compromises our defence because he does very little when it comes to tracking back and actually making tackles.

Yaya toure is an attacking midfielder - com - supporting striker and it is unfortunate that he is been misused because of stereotypes attached to players of his size which assumes that he is naturally defensive.
So yes this is why the team may seem better without toure as he lacks that electric energy. He is more of an ochestrator that slows the game down in the midfield.

But Manchester City, like any other team in the world is markedly better with Yaya than without- that goes without saying

We are blessed to have a player like him and yaya playing at full trottle in the right roles and positions is just too formibidle for anything or anyone that dares pretend themselves an obstacle to his objectives.
He is the most talented player we have ever had, an unstoppable force, a frustrating genius.

If we cant live without him we have a poor squad....

But fortunatley the answer is yes we can cope without him while in the african nation. In some ways it is good to see a change around, we need to test what we back up with... Such is the squad at the moment that we cope fine, an injury on top of it with a key player would cause concern though..... In general i like the change around.

We aren't a one-man team. Sure we can live without Yaya. It's just that with Yaya, in his best form, our team is brought up a notch.

I managed to watch most of this afternoon's ACON match and i'm wondering if anyone else is worried he might come back on bloody crutches.
Admittedly I've never really watched many ACON games but after watching today's game I was astonished by the tackling/fouling...some challenges were just awful, the officiating and pitch were shite too...and i'll be watching the Ivory Coast game tomorrow praying he doesn't get lumps kicked out of him and/or breaking his ankle on one of those rock hard pitches.

I wish him luck but will look forward to his safe return.

Anything I've seen of the ACON has just been dire. The quality of football is generally very poor. A lot of good athletes, few good footballers.

I feel we could do. We have been very defensively tight at the back in his absence (backed by not conceding all year) but his attacking exploits are a massive boost.

Versus a Championship side, against ten men and against a very average Fulham team, which, coincidentally have tied in with a slight improvement in Garcia.
