Yaya contract

Considering his agent, I think he has China written all over him in the summer.

According to Daniel Taylor in the Guardian he already turned down a ridiculous amount of money to play in China as he wants to carry on playing at the highest possible level. That said, I guess it's possible they could come back with an even bigger offer.

Would love him to shut everybody up and sign a new contract for less than he is on now. I wouldn't be bothered if it included huge bonuses, because if he got them it would mean we have done well...... Ps I have said for weeks, he will get us the winner in the champions league final in Cardiff. It's what he does so well, big game player. Please God, let this come true. Mcfc4 ever

I didn't know that he had mate.....then again like you say smoke and mirrors contract negotiation are not unknown. Ya Ya for me has been our most influential player...pity he is advised by a massive swollen Glans end

I think going to the AFCON tournament 4 times in 5 years did him no favours fitness wise. I'd say they spend a lot of time on team-building and winning specific games during that month. That and an indulgent manager for 3 years took the edge off his game. And like a lot of talented people he's possibly the kind of person who'll coast if he can. Over his career, his time with us has seen him become a different player. He became almost unique. And he could have been even better. Sadly he's rarely stood out for us in European games.

Doesn't deserve a new contract?

Yaya doesn't deserve a new contract?

I very, very, very strongly disagree.

He deserves a statue for what he has done for us...

JJ

Why would you give a new contract to a 34 year who is currently fifth choice behind Fernandinho, Gundogan (when fit), Silva and De Bruyne?

The only reason I could possibly see is to give one of the youngsters like Garcia a bit more time, knowing we have an experienced player to come in if he doesn't make the grade.

Yaya looks in excellent condition, the way he has knuckled down and got himself in shape shows his dedication..

Looking at the pics of Sergio today i would say he is the one who should be getting the flak.

Sorry if this has already been discussed but has he retired from international footie or is AFCON still a worry
