Yaya/Dzeko and Ramadan

In Islam, there's no thing such as "prayer once a day", either you're gonna pray five times a day or you do not pray at all. Same with fasting, Islam strictly says that healthy adult muslims should fast 30 days of holy month of Ramadan, nothing less.

We muslims are taking our religion from 2 ways:
1- The holy Quran
2- The Sunnah (all the things that prophet Mohammad did/told us to do)

The Qur'an tells us to pray, but it is in the sunnah (behavior) of the Prophet Mohammad, that we learn exactly how to pray — at what times, in what words and movements, and how to cleanse ourselves beforehand.

Hence the term lapsed Muslim (or Catholic or Protestant etc etc)

He must have some value in his one prayer a day otherwise, as you said, he wouldn't bother to do it at all.

Prayer once a say takes you out of the fold of the Islam; Islam is not like modern-day Christianity, you are either practising or nothing. There are various verses in the Qur'an and Hadith of The Prophet that prove this.

unable to compromise. excellent.

i heard bellamy started fasting thinking he might gain some favors from mancini. by the way, mancini prays 2 times per day.

hard was concentrated praying the moment he conceded two goals the last game.

balotelli is wondering why is he not fasting but still sitting on the bench. now he is thinking to fast so he can play.

some people on this forum as fasting but still they are able write comments in here. hope that doesnt compromise their fasting.

had no idea Dzeko was muslim, just shows the media makes us believe a muslim is in the image they portray i.e. terrorist. I thinks it's great they still undertake something they strongly believe in, in such a hard environment to undertake. good on em'. Very insightful read.

So Yaya looks like a terrorist?

Only to the opposition, and their managers

I heard they got an exception but have to do the Ramadan thing another time in the year. No idea if this is true or not or how such an exception is applied.
that is true... need to fast after the holy month for the missed number of days... but there should be a good enough reason for missing it...

I'm pretty sure that they fast on some days, but definitely not every day. For example, in islam religion there are a lot of teachings about one special night in Ramadan, which is called Laylat al Qadr. Muslims believe that this is the 27th night of Ramadan, and most of muslis do fast on that day.

<a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laylat_al-Qadr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laylat_al-Qadr</a>

Dzeko believes in God and he does fast, but most probably only on some certain days.

I suppose that even if they fast intermttently, by the end of Ramadan the cumulative effect might take the edge off their fitness? Fasting during pre season, even when not playing a match, cant be much fun.

Didn't think Nasri was strict and I saw Dzeko drinking out of a bottle during the Swansea match
Swansea was a night match and you are allowed to drink when the sun is down

He is correct....i have never heard of muslims who prays once a day by choice. islam is very clear....pray 5 times a day. Dzeko is bosnian and I doubt he's religious or know much about islam. Like alot of bosnier he's muslim by name. nasri is not religious at all....thats well known. Kolo Toure was religious when he was at Arsenal.

pretty sure there was footage of dzeko with champagne on his way back from cup final on the train on the OS

What happens when they finally kick the bucket and realise 'fuck' i could of had that fry up?

For the record those who believe kolo (kilo to his friends(O:), yaya and edin are strict practising muslims obviously haven't seen them on a sunday night with a bottle of bubbly round the lips.

I'm no nutritionist but did people not notice the stark contrast in Ya Ya's play in the second half against Swansea after it went dark, he will have been able to eat and drink at half time, I'm assuming that's what fuels those after burners he was using in the second half, that were again absent on Sunday afternoon.
Ya Ya seemed to play well within himself on Sunday, whether that was tactics or Ramadan who knows.
