Yaya-Keep or Sell?

Selfishly, I want to see Pogba and Yaya in the same side. Realistically, it's probably best to part ways in the summer.

Not sure about that. If he does stay it will be in a deeper role mostly behind the ball. I expect that under Pep all outfield players with the exception of Kun maybe will have to get back behind the ball quickly. There will be no room for Yaya lumbering around in such a set up. At the end of the day I think that if a good offer comes in he will be off otherwise he may be used by Pep sparingly for another year. It's 50-50 really.

I've no doubt if a good offer comes in he'll be off mate, but getting back behind the ball, not too sure about that, it has it's limits and consideration has to be given to where each outfield player is positioned, the area they're expected to operate in, and where the ball is, I don't think it's realistic to expect someone playing just behind Kun to cover potentially right back to the goalkeeper.
Just my thoughts anyway, for me, Yaya offers us a far better chance of retaining the ball higher up the pitch, has great physical presence, the touch and technique, and also the brain to find a pass, the further up the pitch he is, teams will be very wary of the threat he offers, and will try to counter that with extra cover at least.

Keep but he has to stop starting, which sadly I don't see happening.

Two season's ago it was pretty clear where Yaya's strength was, but we had the likes of bull mastiffs in our defence so he wasn't called upon to take on more than a smidgin of defensive work. If he starts in a midfield two where Silva, Sterling, etc, have to come back and do some tackling 'cos Yaya is AWOL I fear disaster.

However, he can still puts the shits up defences when he runs at them - Something that he and others should be doing more often.

And as for being Cap'n Yaya? Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

Oh, I haven't answered the question! There is probably only Aguero's goal that would eclipse the one that Yaya got v Sunderland, and for that he could be in the squad, but I fear Yaya and his agent would still want top dog status until he finally hangs up his boots.

I don't see what is stopping a move to inter. They need a player like yaya and he would thrive as slow-moving, talented attacking or deep, coming-forward midfielder

Can't see him staying if our midfield targets come through. Regardless, can only see him playing the role he did at Barca under Pep ...unless we see him as a potential ST to cover Kun? Would be cheaper than signing someone

If you asked me this before Christmas I'd have been the first one to say sell. In recent weeks he's turned it around and been one of our best players in the last couple of months even rolled back the years to say.
Now I'm not so sure what I'd do with him

The recent improvement in form is because he is looking for a new contract. This is the time to invest in midfield for the future.

Sell. Our defensive vulnerability stems from his lack of effort running back. He basically leaves Fernandinho as the only midfield player with too much space to cover. Then players like Kolarov and Otamendi run out of position to cover the gaps which creates even more space in the defensive line for the opposition to run into.

Gundogan would offer so much more off the ball. His passing, vision and technique make him an excellent replacement. At 25, he's also seven years younger than Yaya.

I wouldn't be surprised if we bought another second central midfielder especially if we sell Fernando. Fernandinho has been one of the better performers this season and should hold down a holding midfield role. Hopefully, Guardiola will bring Manu Garcia into the mix even more and Delph is good as home-grown cover.
