Yaya 'lightening' Toure

At the end of the day raw sprinting speed means fuck all. If thats all that mattered we may as well get Usain Bolt etc playing. Control of the ball when moving at full tilt is the most important part. And imo I have not seen to many lads better when going at full tilt at keeping the ball under control than Yaya.

To be fair mate Yaya never looks in control he just seems to batter his way through and the ball follows him, sometimes im truly shocked he has got where he has with the ball, it bounces all over the place hitting his body and legs and seems to bounce perfect for him!!!

For the record i do love his runs i just have no idea how he does it

I prefer Yaya to Essien. Essien is great but hasn't been on it for a while - injuries playing their part.

But Yaya just offers more. I think Essien is a fair bit fitter though.

Hmmm, have to disagree with you there.

I think, when he's on his game, there is hardly a more complete midfielder around than Essien.

Yaya is a good player, but I'd take Essien over him anyday. You did make a good point re: Essien not being on it for ages though. He was starting to impress at the beginning of this season before Chelsea clusterfucked.

As for the OP - Hernandez is quicker than him.

I love Yaya. At the beggining of the season he looked like David Silva on the ball, so calm and great feet and range of passing. Now he looks like he cannot get it under control and just runs like a battering ram still he's tackled or falls over.

Maybe we will see the August Yaya come March?

Great player.

I think Yaya offers more as an alround player.

His vision and range of passing IMO is far superior to Essien, they're pretty equal when it comes to striking and I'd choose Yaya over Essien when it comes to dribbling. It's a real sight to see himtear through the centre of the pitch... I've never seen anything like it!

Obv at City I've not seen much of Yaya in a defensive mould, but we have, IMO one of, if not the best best in the business in NDJ taking care of that.

With Silva out, Yaya will be crucial to our chances of victory. I think we'll try and squeeze the life out of arsenal and nick a 1-0, we've been forced into counter attacking football so expect Johnson to carry on being involved in practically every goal when he's on the pitch.
