You are saying different things. So, inconsistent. FWIW I'd be delighted if he was to swing games after comming off the bench.

I think Yaya will score more goals than most of our midfielders this season, more than Silva, Gundogan, Navas, Dinho, Nando & Delph.

The only midfielders that may score more than him are KDB, Nolito and Sterling.

he is also very rarely injured and if he is he either trys to run it off or he will be back in a week..

I don't get the Milner is a **** position some fans have. He had a contract and finished it. Did not want to sign a new contract because he wanted to be a starter somewhere else, and his chances here were slim. Sure, the club wanted him to stay cuz he is a great utility player to have on your squad. He wasn't interested in that role. And rightly so. He backed himself to be a starter somewhere else.

How anyone can hate on that is beyond me. All the talk of he didn't say shit is silly. He doesn't have to. He has a responsibility to honor his contract. He did that. Was offered a new one and said no. It was clear to the blind that he was going to examine his options once it ran out. At no point did he pretend or claim otherwise. Anyone hating him for leaving is just being spoilt.

Not everyone wants to be a backup on a good team. Clearly Milner didn't. Nothing wrong with that.

He could've let it be known that he had no intention of renewing long before he did, we could then have cashed in whilst he was still under contract. It left a bit of a sour taste, and then compounded it when he went to Liverpool and was only in the door and started spouting their bullshit mantra. I don't hate him but can understand some feeling resentment.
 
Whilst I am pleased with Yaya's goals and hia attitude and the players happiness for him, I dont think he is now our main man in midfield upon whom the title now depends or is even influenced by him.

The player is obviously loved by his mates though, they will be keen to see him not treated unfairly, Pep has a bit of a job on his hands keeping Yaya treatment and team togetherness/happiness all balanced.

So I think he will be brought in more, given all the chances he can be given, team spirit improves, we win more games. The only thing that can upset it is if Seluk starts talking shite, but I honestly think Yaya has told him to stfu.

Why not just come out and say that instead of stringing it out and saying nothing ?

And I don't consider myself as " spoiled " or precious as you suggest but thank you for your opinion .
 
Do we think this could be an indian summer for a slim, motivated Yaya? Will it be Pep's greatest masterstroke? Yaya has the skill set to still play an important role this season. It would be wonderful if he could. That would be a fitting end to a fantastic career with City. He could leave us with legendary status which is what his contribution deserves rather than the legacy of the last couple of years.

But you are assuming he knew himself. That's a false assumption. More likely than not his reasoning was as follows: I'd run down my contract and see if there is a good team out there willing to pay me a good fee as a starter, if there isn't one, I'll re-up with City rather than go play at a relegation battling club.

That is a man who wants to leave his options open. When ant player doesn't re-up their contract with less than 2 years to go, you can take that as a sign they are saying they don't intend to resign. He doesn't need to get on the microphone or tell anyone. He's actions did not surprise our Management. They knew with a year to go he wasn't going to stay, they could have sold him if they wanted, they just chose not too.

He owes us nothing. Was acquired, played out his contract, did not whine, and moved on. That's being a professional. We shouldn't be whinning either.

I mean, we whine about players who try to leave early or talk about leaving while under contract. We can't then turn around and whine about players who don't talk about leaving but simply play out there contract.

Can't have it both ways. The man put his head down and did his work under contract, then moved on. I salute him and have no problems with how he conducted himself.

In sure that even his biggest fans wouldn't imagine he'll be our main man in midfield. He'll be a player to come off the bench, or play against some of the smaller teams who will just park the bus (Palace, Boro, West Brom, Utd etc, etc)..

Come out and say what? You make it sound like everything was set in stone. So let me get this, I'm not happy being a backup because I think I can be a starter on a different good team, but I'm not sure which good team's jave a need. Why burn my bridges at my current club by saying am leaving, what if the next club changes its mind and doesn't think it needs my services.

What he did left both sides equally vulnerable. He didn't sign coz he wanted have options and make the best choice for himself. This happens all the time in other sports. Sure your current team is always an option too. So there is no guarantee you are leaving, you might check the market and realize you are already at your best option then re-sign. Or you might find a better one and then leave.

That's what he did. Signing a new contract would have been silly for a backup who wasnt happy being that.

He has to play against every team that's going to park the bus imo, he likes to shoot, can pick out a pass and mobility won't be as much of an issue.

Hang on there a second Dax, you're suggesting in that post that he didn't know himself whether he was going to stay and then you're saying our management knew he wasn't going to stay. Doesn't add up mate.
