Yaya Toure and Ramadan ...

since you guys have ABSOLUTELY no idea what you are talking about, here it is. if the player is muslim, he will 100% be fasting, no doubt about it. and when dzeko says he isnt orthodox, all that means is he doesnt pray 5 times a day, in bosnia no one seems like a muslim, but the day ramadan comes, every1 starts going to the mosque and fasting, so trust me dzeko fasts. the thing is it WONT affect there performances, muslims have been doing this since they were kids, and they get a big good meal in the morning then again at night , so no worries. btw i just came on here to tell you this.

dzeko is unorthodox and prays only once a day... i pray only once a week and i am a muslim... bt i does fasting a lot... for a muslim, fasting is very important... so there is no point in saying dzeko is not orthodox... but i doubt how many players fast during the match days... the quran says that you are allowed to drop fasting for doing hard physical jobs... the only thing is that you will have to fast sometime later after ramadan and tally the missed days... and i dont beleive many footballers fast during matchdays... because you cant have water or even swallow your own cough that comes out of your mouth till sunset... that would be hard to live with for a footballer...

Those clerics giving permissions for people to break a fast if they play football are doing that just to make some people happy to hear it, there's no any single way it could be allowed if it does not make their health and life in danger.

I'm pretty sure Yaya would fast and that he doesn't rate those "fatwas", I don't know for Clichy, haven't got idea he is Muslim at all and I don't see Dzeko is too religious at all. Yes he usually makes a dua pray before the game but I've seen him drinking beer when Wolfsburg won Bundesliga title so he's probably one of those "yeah, I'm Muslim but I don't care about Islam rules too much".

we're going to theology stuff now but that's a complete bullshit what you've said. Praying 5 times a day is strict Islamic rule, the main and most important one after saying you're Muslim and doing that doesn't make you a damn orthodox.

the quran says that you are allowed to drop fasting for doing hard physical jobs...

Find me that verse in Qur'an and I'l give you 10k in whatever currency you want. I'll bring them on your hands as I guess you're Bosnian, only my felow Bosnians are saying "Qur'an says" stuff even when they don't have idea what Qur'an says.

2:184 (Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (Should be made up) from days later. For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of his own free will,- it is better for him. And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew

nothing about work, but on a journey or trip u dont need to fast... so maybe on away matches you dont need to fast :p ?
also the way you tell if some1 is orthodox is if they pray 5 times a day, dont tell me it isnt. in bosnia they are muslim but they all drink, really the only time they are muslim is during ramadan, and only then islamic rules start to apply lol

some things unorthodox muslims follow are things like not eating pork, saying selam aleykum when greeting someone, or even fasting. praying 5 times a day is one of the hardest thing to do if you have work or school, the first prayer is very early, like 5 am, so if someone prays 5 times a day, they are VERY ORTHODOX.

I don't care what some Muslims are doing or not, or is that hard to accomplish for them or not. That doesn't make anything a rule or orthodox or not, that just say something about them.

Praying 5 times a day is strict and heavily obligatory thing for Muslims... in some early Islamic days (and even now) there were/are heavy debates if a man who doesn't make a pray 5 times a day should be considered a Muslim at all. But most cleric think he should be considered a Muslim but all think that he is a heavy sinner.

Mohammad s.a.w.s said: Salat (praying 5 times) is first thing you're going to be asked for on Judgement day. If your salat is good, everything else would be. If not, everything else won't be good"

So, there is nothing orthodox in praying 5 times a day, it's one of main things that makes someone a Muslim. You can do it or not but there is nothing orthodox in it. It is and should be a default for a Muslim.

what im trying to say is, there is no such thing as being a "orthodox" muslim. your either a muslim, or a "fake" muslim. bosnians are fake muslims. if you are willing to pray 5 times a day, all the other obligations to be considered a muslim arent even noticeable, if you pray 5 times a day that shows you really believe your faith. also if u dont pray 5 times a day ur not muslim, simple as that.
