Yaya Toure apologises

If he isn't (and the likelihood is that, by a section of our support, he won't be), then he's got two people to thank/blame for that. That leech hanging on to his coat tail, and himself for not distancing himself from Seluk's comments.

You’re 100 per cent correct, but that’s why I’m hoping for a compromise.

I only remember the latter part of the Bell/Lee/Summerbee era, but Yaya’s role was just as influential.

So a million pound a month until the end of June, then another million severance pay at the end plus loyalty bonus is really showing him by Pep. He should not have got publicly involved.
The reasoning on this thread boggles the mind sometimes. I often come here to see how fans have taken their tinted to virtual reality levels.

We where always going to get screwed on his contract in the end.

A lot of the issues happened when we did a lot of renewals and Yaya never got offered one, which would have been either longer

Such a shame as a legend and actually does a lot of good with his money too!

Always thought there would have been a place for him as a club, especially in an ambassador role, possibly promoting the club in Africa and speaking to African players about the challenges and rewards of playing in the Premier League.

Be interesting to know why the Inter deal did not work out, as surely there must have been will on both sides

I agree with that. I tend to believe that most of the players don't particularly care, it's a job, albeit a very well paid job. Unfortunately fans have an emotional involvement with the club, and some of those fans like to believe that the players share that emotional involvement.

Doubt many of them do care about the fans but lets face it were not exactly passionate supporters these days. It goes both ways. They're here for the money and the glamour of winning trophies.

He'll still get a last pay day out of City when his contract has finished. Not sure which paper it will be in, but I'd be willing to bet he sticks the knife in with a warts and all interview when he goes.

How are we not passionate supporters? Speak for yourself. I didn't spend nearly a full months wages on my season ticket because I've nothing better to do at the weekends you know!

To be honest, I'm still sort of hoping that there's some kind of compromise with Yaya leaving in January, but maybe playing at the swamp, and giving us the opportunity to thank him publicly.

Regardless of the recent farce, Yaya should be remembered as a hero.

I suspect Pep is not in the business of playing someone in a competitive game to give him a send off, and IMO, nor should he. You reap what you sow, and Yaya has only has to look in the mirror.
I respect people acknowledging him as a legend or hero, but not for me.

YaYa has imo fucked up his after career career he could and should of been a great African ambassador for city unfortunately that'll never happen now he'll get one more payday
His agent has fucked up his move to the USA with new York and a life long job spreading the good name of Manchester city around the world
