Yaya Toure apologises

It's a sad end to Yaya's time with us. He's been brilliant and has been the most important player since the takeover - we shouldn't forget that. But his idiot of an agent has been a constant irritant and unfortunately he's managed to sour relations with both the club and the fans that will probably always slightly over shadow what Yaya achieved. Yaya should have been stronger and told his agent to shut it but for whatever reason he hasn't. He won't play for us again.

Pretty sure his basic was £250k, don't think he signed a new deal after when we started changing them.
Don't know about his basic but that was my thinking regarding when he signed his contract and when City started moving people to the performance based contracts. There was nothing City could do if he refused to sign a new contract, presuming they did.

I got the impression the contracts were based on team performance and games won in each competition, so I don't know if Yaya playing or not makes much difference. He also may be due a loyalty payment if he stays until the end of June.

The new performance based contracts yes, but Yaya's was signed before they were introduced (I think). Pretty sure he's due a 'loyalty' (lol) bonus if he see's out his contract.

Dependant when it was done I'd say yes
Don't think many saw a scoring 28?goal Mega season to falling off a cliff scenario
But all our big players were put on to lower salary and large bonus contracts including Aguero, Silva and Kompany.

I can't see Toure would have been classed differently.

Based on team performance rather than individual ones.

I hope something in the small print prevents a 'loyalty' bonus, how does he deserve one if - yes he is staying till his contract ends, which shows loyalty! BUT he is in effect on strike! (By refusing to apologise directly, or indirectly through his agent).

We could have done with him in the EFL cup, midweek, for example. He could have come on for Kompany, at halftime, in defence.
