Yaya Toure apologises

And it's going worse (Seluk reaction on russian football site, my raw translation):

Seluk: Who is Guardiola I would need to apologize? I won't do it... He is not a supermanager, believe me I know him well.

And a lot of similar nonsense. What a pr*ck. How many years left in Ya Ya contract?
Not a super manager?

He's the best manager in the world and you're an agent with one client on your books you fat ****.

I think Pep will just ignore the ****. He's said he's piece.

Reading between the obvious lines, this is all about expediting a player exit - the rest makes for plenty of clicks
And sending the message to other players, present and future, that there not buffer than the club.

Listening to Seluk I can understand now why Yaya has had an headache for four days.

Absolute bellend! Fair play to Jim White, I think White had enough of his stuttering crap. What a tosser, I was actually laughing at him through the anger. Dick

To be fair, this isn't that impressive. Yaya was already a fringe player on the squad. Left to management they'd have rather he moved on. So putting your foot down on an aging fringe player isn't that impressive. There are lots of Impressive things Pep has done here, but this isn't one of them. I know the hate for Yaya here makes folks go gaga over any bad that befalls him. But lets keep it factual, any manager would have taken the same decision. I mean Schweinsteiger didn't say shit at United and Mourihno sent him to go play with the youth team.
Sit
When you are surplus to requirement, this is what happens. If i were Yaya, I sure would not apologize. Sit tight, collect your 250 a week for the rest of your one year. Keep your aging legs fresh so you can play a few more paid for seasons when your contract of getting paid to relax is over. It's only in the mind of fans do they think this is actually a negative for Yaya. I mean I'd love for my company to overpay me to take a vacation for a year at a position I am surplus to requirement at.

Truth is this works for all sides. Pep doesn't have to workout ways to fit some aging ex ward into his new philosophy and an ex-great player doesn't have to spend his last year hoping for 10 minute scraps at the end of games. To me this is a win win situation. Perhaps a win-win-win. As the fans who have always disliked Yaya and deemed his actions disreputable can too pump their fist in joy for having won finally. :)

I guess its a trifecta :) But none of it is that impressive. IN my opinion obviously :)

Spot on, Pep has cranked up an argument that was effectively dead. No one takes the ramblings of Seluk (and by proxy Yaya) seriously but maybe Pep does. There's history between the two and Pep strikes me as a proud man with an unforgiving nature, but even if Pep is being calculated in all this, even if he knows it's a win win where Yaya collects his dosh to do bugger all and Pep can happily ignore him, something changed today.

City, a club that has been the butt of jokes for decades. City, ridiculed and then despised as a no class, no history club that won the lottery. City, a club that now sits at the top table but under sufferance while the other "top" clubs hold their nose. City, forever in Utd's shadow. City, with its Emptyhad. City, a club that at best gets grudging praise when it plays well but is roundly ridiculed when it stumbles.

Well, this is Pep's City now, that old City no longer exists.
