Yaya Toure apologises

Quite incredible how things have turned for certain players in the past three years. From appearing to rule the roost and demanding, and largely getting, a manager who would pander to their whims, they now have someone who sees through egos and insists upon effort and collegiality.

I think what must have angered Pep was Seluk's comments that "Yaya had lost 7kg and still it wasn't enough for Guardiola, even Zlatan was not enough for him"

About time someone stood up to the pair of gobshites. Well said Pep. The sooner Yaya and Seluk fuck off the better.

To be fair, this isn't that impressive. Yaya was already a fringe player on the squad. Left to management they'd have rather he moved on. So putting your foot down on an aging fringe player isn't that impressive. There are lots of Impressive things Pep has done here, but this isn't one of them. I know the hate for Yaya here makes folks go gaga over any bad that befalls him. But lets keep it factual, any manager would have taken the same decision. I mean Schweinsteiger didn't say shit at United and Mourihno sent him to go play with the youth team.

When you are surplus to requirement, this is what happens. If i were Yaya, I sure would not apologize. Sit tight, collect your 250 a week for the rest of your one year. Keep your aging legs fresh so you can play a few more paid for seasons when your contract of getting paid to relax is over. It's only in the mind of fans do they think this is actually a negative for Yaya. I mean I'd love for my company to overpay me to take a vacation for a year at a position I am surplus to requirement at.

Truth is this works for all sides. Pep doesn't have to workout ways to fit some aging ex ward into his new philosophy and an ex-great player doesn't have to spend his last year hoping for 10 minute scraps at the end of games. To me this is a win win situation. Perhaps a win-win-win. As the fans who have always disliked Yaya and deemed his actions disreputable can too pump their fist in joy for having won finally. :)

I guess its a trifecta :) But none of it is that impressive. IN my opinion obviously :)

I wonder why pep has said this now,i imagine that this has all been said privately and getting nowhere, this will force thing one way or another

The great thing about this is that it doesn't impact the side, its very quickly become 'Yaya who?'

Well it's simple enough for Yaya now anyhow. He is in the position where he either sides with the comments made by his agent, or distances himself from that, apologises & then that actually puts a bit of pressure on Pep to at least give him a token carrot in response.

If he refuses, he is effectively confirming that Seluk is speaking on his behalf. Should have been cleared up years ago.

It's not about being impressed it's about fucking time

About bloody time. Sick and fed up of having a manager that panders to the little darling's every need. Pep has said what we've all been wanting to say to Yaya since cake gate.

A load of rambling nonsense Dax. I really don't care if he does apologise or not. He is done at city far too slow these days to play anything more than a bit part. Pep is just voicing the opinion of the majority who are sick and tired of Yaya and his agent. Would I rather it had all ended differently of course I would but the glory days are gone now and it's time he hit the road hopefully in January but with your encouragement perhaps he will sit on his arse for another six months.

Well I am sure Yaya would love to play. He won't get anything near what he would have liked if he sits doing nothing. Yaya has taken the club for a ride in the past few years and I'd hoped this came a lot earlier than today. He isn't on a vacation, I think he would still train.

Also remember Pep decided Yaya is a fringe player, he played a lot of games last season mind you. I wouldn't have done what Mou did with Bastian, his attitude is immaculate. Imagine if Yaya had been told to train with the youth, his agent would have probably tried to get the world against us.

Seluk is speaking for him. Agents are always speaking for their clients. And if they misspeak, they are quickly corrected. It's always the player screwing up. Agents are simply vessels. It's the analogues to talking on your phone to someone. And the person thinking it was your phone talking and they need to hear you say it personally. The player /agent distinction is one fans make when they like or think they need the player. Its a fan fallacy.

Just like it was Tevez back in the day, it is Yaya now.

Hasn't he confirmed in the past that Seluk speaks for him and what he says is with his approval? I am sure he has said that before.
