Yaya Toure apologises

At the risk of it already having been covered once, there is a history there between not just Yaya & Pep but Txiki, Pep, Yaya & Seluk all at Barcelona...and repeatedly

It ushered in an era at the club where they wouldn't deal with douche agents and a big reason why Mendes was out as well

They're not stupid, they know this is the reaction to have expected from Guardiola - it's to help expedite a rapid transfer elsewhere

Just engineering a move and forcing him out for me, it's pretty simple when you have someone picking up £250k a week and they aren't even at a level where you would consider them for the bench.

Yaya was a legend for us and it is a shame but if he isn't going to work hard like the others then he won't ever fit in a Guardiola team.

He's not picking up £250k a week if he doesn't play, not even close. He'll just be getting his basic (around 120k?) with no appearance fee, win bonus, goal bonuses etc.

false analogy. Yaya (until late in the season,) was a key player for Pelegrini, so yes Pele probably would not have done it. But the real comparison would be what would Pelegrini have done to Jovetic if Jovetic's agent had been unruly? That's the correct analogy i.e. a player that couldn't make your CL squad. Couldn't even make the bench for your qualifier squad on the road. Comparing Yaya at the beginning of Pel's reign to Yaya at the beginning of Pe's is a false comparison.

The key here is, even a ball boy can tell off a fringe player. Yaya since Pep got here has been a fringe player, so telling him off is mad easy. That was my point. It's not impressive to tell off a fringe player. Which Yaya currently is.

Bottom line is that if Pellegrini was still here none of this would have played out this way. But I still don't believe Pellegrini would have had the balls to do this to Yaya even if he had had the balls to drop him from the CL squad (which he wouldn't have). Make no mistake, if Pellegrini was still here, Yaya would still be calling the shots, your "factual" statement that any manager would do this is utter bollocks.

Sorry lads and lasses, I'm a bit late to this but can someone tell me which comments specifically Pep is referring to?

I don't think that's factual. Do you think Pellegrini would have done the same if he was still here? I think he'd have asked Yaya for forgiveness and reinstated him immediately into a two man midfield.
Exactly. That comment from Dax wasn't in the least bit factual.

My heart bleeds!

Though it will surely hurt him if he's losing £100k a week, still getting £120k a week for doing absolutely fuck all, is quite ridiculous isn't it.

Seluk saying Guardiola has 'humiliated' Yaya and that he should apologize should we not with the cl. The fall out from being excluded in the cl squad.

Lets get this right, yaya has said numerous times his agent speaks for him and has never corrected him once even with the stuff about the club not letting him see his dying brother,if you think differently then you have a lot of reading to do since we won the title last
Exactly.

Yep, but I'm going to go glass half full on this one. We really should have sold him to PSG in 2014 but better late than never.

Even so the quicker he moves on the better, I'd rather sign Sanchez (reported yesterday supposedly) and pay him £120k a week then someone who has probably played his last game for us.

Ha, hardly, but to look at it a different way not playing him might be enough to pay for the Moreno and Zinchenko transfer fees :)
And that drop in money might get him out in January which I think even Yaya's biggest supporters would probably now agree is the best thing all round.

But that was after Guardiola's decision to leave him out. The suggestion from what I've read seems to be he left him out of the CL squad because of comments his agent made.

Have to drop someone from the champions league squad then and we're stocked on the wings.

I'll always be a fan of Yaya but his idiot agent just can't keep his mouth shut and Yaya always allows it. Glad Pep put put his foot down and is not prepared to deal with this nonsense.
