Yaya Toure apologises

I'm not certain exactly what Pep's response means, but because he says it's great for City & great for Yaya, then I'm assuming he means he's back in the squad, otherwise it can't be 'great' for either.

If that's the case, then yes, I think we'll see him play. But it will be when required rather than any kind of publicity stunt. So right now, he's probably behind Aleix Garcia in the queue.

But Yaya is more of a goal threat, so that could influence Pep's thinking.

We have the shitty fucking international break coming up & we don't know how many players we will be left with afterwards.

Having an extra great footballer added to the squad is good news irrespective of some of the malicious nonsense on here.
If he was going to be back in the squad why would Pep says "you know my position, no change"?

I watched him say it,the agent came straight out yesterday and said he is not saying sorry and doesn't understand why yaya was, that is why despite yaya's statement, which i applaud him, on the situation remains the same
Seluk also said Yaya "probably doesn't mean it".

Putting his client first as always.

I don't think he was clear in what he said. He said that Yaya has continued to train and attend team meetings with the squad ie no change. There may be no turning back, ultimately I will always back the club in these type of things.

My feeling was that Yaya had done what Pep had asked and apologised but maybe Seluk then going straight on Talksport to contradict that makes Yaya's apology null and void in Pep's eyes. Who knows.

Irrespective I would still hope that peace can be found and Yaya can play a part in what looks like will be his last season with the club. I just don't want my memories of Yaya and that period tarnished so I hope that a reconciliation can be found and that Yaya's apology is enough to do that.

Honestly believe this is being wrongly read by the media and our supporters. I think the real story here will come out eventually. I reckon Yaya wants rid of this Seluk but he has some kind of hold over him and can't sack him. Pep and our club are actually fighting Yaya s corner. I reckon Pep is showing support for Yaya and fighting back on his behalf. In my opinion Pep knows Seluk is taking advantage of the player. When Pep says "I know Yaya for a long time" it is showing there is no animosity between the 2. This Seluk is a reptile and Pep is trying to expose him on Yaya' s behalf.

He was very clear, he said Seluk had to apologise.

You sure!? If so fair enough, but I'm not sure I really understand why Pep is so bothered about what an agent has to say. Most of them are snakes in the grass.

Just checked myself, you are quite right. Sigh. No idea what Seluk must have on Yaya to contradict his own players statement.....
Or why his two brain cells didn't fire and he just shit the fuck up after what's yaya said. He put his own pride ahead of his clients career.

Even Yaya's apology half hearted. I apologise for "misunderstanding". His agent said Pep had no balls. Don't think the issue is one of misunderstanding

Lets see how this plays out and whether anything has changed after the Yaya statement and discussion with Guardiola but I doubt it. It is clear that Yaya is not in the manager's plans and the condition or request of an apology from his agent essentially makes that point clear and real. It is a long season and many things can happen and having a player like Toure available for selection and use can only be good for the team because he brings so much quality. But as for whether anything has changed, it remains to be seen. The statement from Yaya certainly did not hurt him in terms of his relationship with the club.

That annoys me to, what misunderstanding? Oh yes Yaya ofc it was all just a complete communication mess up, fuck off. He can't even take responsibility instead putting it down everyone not understanding the situation. I can't stand him anymore.

fully agree

Because his position hasn't changed.

He asked for an apology. He got one. If he's accepted it, then what he says stands & Yata is back in. If he hasn't accepted it, & needs the agent to apologise, then what he said stands & Yaya us still out.

Him saying it's great news suggests it's the first one otherwise it isn't great news, at all.

He said he doesn't agree with the criticism, those are not his words & supports pretty much everybody at the club. There is nothing half arsed about it at all.
