Re: Yaya Toure

If we didn't have the transfer spending limit this summer I'd say let him go

As it is we'd be losing too much from our all round game

We'll need 2 players to replace him, someone to dictate a game from deep ALA Fabregas, then someone to replace his directness and goal threat ALA Reus or Hazard

Whatever fee we get it won't cover that

Re: Yaya Toure

Sheikh Mansour went to Greggs
With Danny Tiatto
Yaya stopped them in the street
Said "where's me fucking gateau?"

Re: Yaya Toure

YaYa is ONE year into a FOUR year contract he signed in May 2013. He is just 31.
That means he can't buy out his contract till next summer.
So YaYa if you want to go, get the other party to pay the going rate (ie contract buy out plus say 10% ).
Don't be a complete arse - for once in your life do the right thing.

It's how you get Respect. You know - what you were complaining about not getting the other week...

City's Official Twitter account just posted this about an hour ago:

"@MCFC: .@toure_yaya42 has been shortlisted for @FTBpro PFA Fan Player of the Season. Voting closes midnight on 26 May: http://t.co/onMKkcFjPs #mcfc"

The replies have been less than pleasant from City supporters and outside pundits alike.

I know the second rule of PR is release the facts that people should know. But the first rule of PR is control the story (usually by being the first to release the information framed in such a way that media seeks you out for updates). At this point, although I know they are not, it looks from the outside that they are ignoring it. This only works for a time to make Yaya/Seluk look petulant—soon it begins to look like we are out of control. That is not the impression you want ramping up to a transfer window, especially when the story concerns a player of interest to any party considering association with City.

I am sure our PR team is devising a strategy as we speak. I just hope it is implemented quickly.
My reply was perfectly civil.

I noticed yours, actually, as I assumed you were the same person. It was civil but far from pleasant ("@dosss45: @MCFC @FTBpro Not feeling like voting for Yaya at the moment lads, sorry."), given what it likely would have been without this farce. You summed up my feelings, though. Other replies are mean-spirited and/or abusive, which does have a tendency of happening on Twitter for nearly everything, but these are a bit different.
I also took @toure_yaya42 out of it, I don't mind the bitching but sending the tweets to him is a bit...

Said that to someone on PM earlier, Billy.

I suspect he's not the prospect on the transfer market he thinks he is, looking for £250K a week and a long contract at the age of 31, and where pace is a big part of his game. Especially if City hold out for £15-20m or whatever.

Unless he accepts a 2 or two and a half year deal, I can't see there being many options beyond one or two money-no-object clubs looking for a leg-up.
15 or 20 million!! Fellani £27m. HaHa, stay off the drugs.

Don't throw insults when you don't know your subject.

Transfers don't work that way.

He's 31 and on 250K a week. If he goes the price will reflect that, as with all transfers.

People suggesting 50 million etc are deluding themselves imo but I'd be gutted if we got less than 25 for him.

Why? It's his agent that has caused all this.

I'm in the get rid now camp.
I'm in the 'his agent goes or he goes' camp.

I'm in the 'the agent is only doing what Yaya want's him to do' camp
Maybe so, but the agent is the one who's burnt his bridges by insulting HH, not Yaya. Lets put it differently, there's still a way for Yaya to back down, apologise and stay to see out at least another year of his contract. But that way doesn't feature Dimitri Seluk.

I agree, I try to maintain a code of class on Twitter regardless of how low that standards of discussion fall.

You should go and read the other replies.

Re: Yaya Toure

If he does leave then I reckon Fellaini might be available at a reasonable price as a replacement...
