He is going to stay as either Monaco, PSG or Barcelona are probably looking for younger targets, he still has 3 years left and we are not going to be shafted with any fee involved. He will probably not get our full support but there is a chance of some redemption this coming season.

I think that "we'll let you know if we're after one of your players" relationship with Barca might have come into some use. Sergei has probably approached Barca and Barca (maybe wishful thinking) might have let us know and agreed to stay away from it all - and thus Sergei is left with his dick in his hand

He would have to suss the style of all his new team mates and tactics.
If he was 27 again i reckon real madrid would have already bid. He isn't though and if your looking to build a team he doesn't fit, however as an expensive stop gap or star signing to appease fans he would kinda work.

If he stays, fine, if he leaves, fine.
I trust the management team to do the best thing for the club.
