Did he mention if he likes marzipan though ?

Did he also mention that City can't win the title without him, or that Txiki and Soriano will have to sweep Trafalgar Square as a forfeit?

Did he also insist that our owner can't buy his loyalty?

As far as Toure is concerned: "My agent speaks for me."

any truth in chat about a yaya to barca and cesc to us deal tolm?
Don't tell him Tolm.

Re: Yaya Toure

I have been a huge Yaya fan and I refuse to jump to conclusions: nothing would surprise me (i.e. whether he stays or goes). However, this episode is starting to reek of Eau de Grimsby and if the end result is Yaya exiting stage left, his standing, at a club where he could have been acclaimed it's greatest ever player, will be hugely diminished.

Sad that after all those wonderful goals, he may be most remembered for an own goal.

Toure has been great for us, but he looks to be angling for a move he and his agent have been a pain every summer since he signed so....

Pros
Its the best time to sell him from a transfer fee point of view £40-50 million I'd guess before city would consider selling

He won't probably wont have another season like he just had, yes he scored 20 goals but 6 penalties and a few free kicks from what I recall, we have other players that can take set pieces....

He is 31 probably only one more top season left in him I'd say, judging by how knackered he is after every run

We can give fernandinho license to attack more as he wont have to cover for Toure for 90 minutes, see what he can do he scored some great goals at his previous club.

I think the thought for toure this season may have been to play him further forwards and remove his defensive responsibility, this is possibly toures best position but there are other who can play there.

Will make summer transfer window more interesting if all of a sudden city have an additional £50m to play with for a midfielder or two.

Cons
Runs from deep dragging three or four opposition players with him will be a thing of the past.

Yes, fair enough, but who are we replacing him with?.... Surely it's best to get a replacement before selling... If not the selling clubs will raise the prices as they know we've got the cash......

Ho hum..... The graveyards are full of indispensable men.

I tend to agree, although I also believe it makes sense, irrespective of FFPR.

You always sell at the peak, more so, when they are 31 and break convention in terms of asking price.

Yaya is a statement signing for any club.

What City would have to do is ensure our replacement was of equal statement, at least in terms of worldwide recognition.

Transfer fee and wages saved would certainly allow us to replace him with an equally world class talent and that's why I don't give two shits either way.

Players come and go and yes he has played a huge part in our success but his leaving wont stop us as a club going on to the next level.

In terms of wages, we could certainly afford to bring in two world class players for Yaya's overall package.

And it would obviously have the ultimate impact of bringing in someone younger, ensuring we are competitive a lot longer than waiting for Yaya's candle to burn out.

The only sour note for me is Yaya destroying his legacy.

I did not agree with handing him a four-year-deal last summer, based on his age.

Thankfully, it would appear Txiki's decision (someone Yaya and Seluk says does not respect him) made us fireproof with that decision.

The only sour note for me is Yaya destroying his legacy.

This is the sad part... because he was almost at the level of the King... and a couple of seasons more would have surpassed even Colin.

Re: Yaya Toure

Why does Yaya say one minute that he'll talk after the World Cup but then continues to share his views playing for other clubs PRIOR to the World Cup? What's all that shit about???

Please tell Mr Hairdoo, I need YouTube based clues and talking cartoon bears, I love all that transfer stuff, that's all that's missing from this thread and of course where will Yaya be next season.

Good post, and yes.... He'll be missed, but such a shame that he's carrying on like this.... Surely he should have kept this private and asked for transfer request behind the scenes. Not via his ridiculous agent and the swine in the media who love a chance to knock the club. Must it end like this?
