Is Zlatan whoring himself out to other teams?

What difference does that make in regards to his value?

We don't need to sell
Well, when a player shows a willingness, a rather strong one, to leave a club then said club isn't really in a "demanding" position when it comes to a fee..
Haha. Porto told me, to tell you, that they think that's cute.

Re: Yaya Toure

All the talk of Yaya being less valuable due to his age - Luiz (an inferior player) being worth more because in theory you're getting him for 10 years or so. Well how does that stack up when a 4 year contract can be broken after 1 because... cake?

Yaya will certainly be a better player than Luiz for the next 2 years, and the way football "contracts" go, that's as good as a lifetime contract.

And as far as I'm aware he hasn't stated he wants to join a specific club, yet.

Despite my ramblings I'm firmly in the 'couldn't give a fuck camp'

Well be better next season without him :)

I see what you're saying but talk of him going for less than £30 million just cause he seems to want to leave, is as ridiculous as my post :)

Do you honestly think we'd sell him for that? Mata spent 4 months sat on the bench and chelsea got £37 million
If he kicks up a big enough fuss after the World Cup and wants to leave the club would have little choice imo

Would the club rather keep a player on insane wages who has no desire to stay for 3 years or sell him on for say £20m+ and reinvest? I'm sure we would all love the Yaya of the last 4 years to rock back up in August and continue where he left off but that looks unlikely at this stage regardless of how this plays out.

As much as we would all like it, we can't keep buying £20m+ players and expect them to retire here, if Yaya expresses his desire to leave in this much anticipated statement of his and factoring in his just come off a 20+ goal season it would undoubtedly be the last opportunity for the club to recoup or perhaps sell him on for more than we bought him for.

I'm not saying Yaya and Seluk will have the top brass where they want them but they will have to consider "cashing in" and the window for doing so at a reasonable if not profitable decision isn't going to get any bigger imo

Re: Yaya Toure

All of this "keep him around, even if he asks to leave" talk is hilarious. I hope he stays, guys, but if he insists on leaving, and we get an offer of £35m, and we turn it down and say "honour your contract and see it out" then you're insane if you think we're going to see 20-goal Yaya, running up and down the pitch, not a single ripple in the dressing room harmony next season. If we get a reasonable offer, and he says he wants to leave, there literally is no choice. No option whatsoever. We could get a substandard version of him to play out a couple years and sulk, but that would be detrimental to the club and hardly a viable choice.

Yaya isn't Tevez. Say what you want about Carlos, the second the whistle blew he only ever knew one speed and one level of determination. He had too much pride in himself to ever half-ass his way through a game. Didn't stop him from being a too-proud **** who flew half way around the world on strike mid-season. But he still played the same way every time the whistle blew. We're not having that luck with Yaya, like it or not.

Like I said, I hope he has a change of heart and finds the route to pedal back and fight for the club. We'll be the first to forget a lot of transgressions when he barnstorms the pitch and knocks in a goal with a smile. If he sticks to his guns, though, I'm not exactly worried either. We don't need to replace what Yaya did last season. We don't need a 20-goal central midfielder. We need an extremely talented midfielder, one of a dozen playing in Europe, who can bust his ass for 90 minutes lining up with an extraordinary team that's won the league twice in the past three seasons. If you think this current crop of players would fall flat on its face with Vidal, or Pogba, or (ideally for me) Rakitic in the engine room instead of Yaya then I have to wonder what you've been watching all this time.

We'll be fine either way. What a circus, bless you City.

As much as I don't want to say it... I actually do give a fuck on this one.
Yaya is one the most influential players at the club both on & off the pitch along with Sergio & VK.
To lose him would weaken the club / squad / team - that is beyond discussion.
However, a half arsed Yaya is not worth a light. This is the decision / call the powers that be have to make.
For me, if we can get £40m (as a minimum based on the Luiz fee) then he goes. Anything less he stays.
However he has to earn his place in the starting 11 week in and week out.

This summer is definitely the best time to cash in if that's what the club want to do

But like i said we don't know the full story, if it's money related then it pains me to say it but I'd offer him what he wants for two more years which gives us more time to replace him properly and by then we will have finished the 2 year FFP sanctions

I don't like to bow down to players demands but if it's a choice between offering him more money, and taking £25 million off PSG then I'd do the former

However if we can get something around £35million+ then I'd happily pay for his Dover-Calais fare out of my next wage :)

After reading almost 1200 pages of opinions I can't bring myself to give a duck any longer!!

But i hope the club can sort something out, if not then get the best few we can
