I think it's just a case of getting the best fee we can for him. For me there is no issue, no ill feeling, no drama, he is on his way to a different club because this is his wish.
Unfortunately we don't always get what we wish for, I've just looked around and I'm not on a nice sandy beach sipping Rum punch eating lobsters with you for example;)

This is the kind of attitude that Pellegrini despise the most. If he don´t see a commitment in him, he will do the same that he did with Riquelme in Villarreal, 2 options, change of attitude or out of the team. However the club must be clever enough to obtain good money for him and sell him to clubs outside the Premier.
That's one way of looking at it, I'm just trying to get Girlbob into bed. I'm shallow like that.

Re: Yaya Toure

Ignored the cake bollocks though disappointed in him as a storm in a teacup, now I would flog him to PSG and stick a bid in for Pogba to mould in the same role and Mathieu Valbuena(if affordable for his age) to fill the creative midfield role in the meantime

He wants to move. Probably because he thinks that his place in the first team is under threat. The club said they won't let him go. Now's he's having a tantrum in public. That's all it is.

We could punish him and make him train with the reserves for a while or sell him. Txiki and Soriano have a decision to make.

I think PSG has probably guaranteed him a long term job with the club and the Bugatti he's been coveting. Nothing else makes sense. He's one of the highest earning players already. He's not under any pressure of loosing him job. 20 goal scorers from CM don't come around very often. As a matter of fact only 2 in the EPL history. If he was so concerned about his brother then why did he spend so much effort crying about cakes, handshakes, jobs and cars? I don't believe him one bit and have changed my stance on his at this point. he has to go.

I'm sure we could have given him a long term job at the end of his footballing career, if we gave one to Viera, why not to Toure ? It's just that he's not after a long term job,. My theory is that he's afraid of losing his place in the first team and wants to go to a club where he doesn't have to fight for his position.

You give long term jobs to professionals who will contribute to the progression of the club.

Re: Yaya Toure

He’ll be taking to the football pitch in the next half hour. I’d have thought, given his 'devastation', he’d be at home with his folks. Anyone would think, despite his current bleating, that he really doesn’t give a shit.

So why not just say that, rather than "boo hoo I didn't get a cake" followed by what seems to be an unsubstantiated lie using his deceased blood as part of it?

Priorities mate...everyone knows how important cake is to him!

1. Cake
2. Family
3. Bugatti Veyron

1. Agent
2. Money
3. Family

Bet City are delighted about this on the same day as the 6,000 new homes announcement...

No club statement yet? I'd expect them to want to deny this as strongly as possible, to make such an accusation at a club obsessed with having a good image will not please them.

Now, let's assuming Yaya has made this up - which history (Adebayor, Zaba, Mancini, Pellegrini all getting leave) tells us is probably the case - he will want City to sell him on the back of this. And that's why City shouldn't sell him and make him stay.

Being a club who is keen to have such a good public image means we have to seriously consider selling him, I think.

How can we let him stay after this. We have to wash our hands completely of him if this is untrue, andf publically.

Not sure he can stay after such slander. IF it's not true.

For starters, if it is in print it is potentially libel, not slander.

Second, if this IS (as some suspect) another attempt to force a move, then why give him what he wants?
if a player wants to move club then eventually that said player will move thats the way modern football is now im affraid ie ronaldo, tevez, mario, bale, torres some players handle it differantly than most but all eventually get their move

Typical story, player gets offer from different club. Owning club do not want to sell. Club then considers selling as to not keep an unhappy player. Price offered is too low for a decent replacement. As a result, player agitates to lower price for buyer. Make up stories to push for a sell. Selling club gets frustrated and accepts lower price. Bing bash bosh, becomes a PSV or Chelsea player by end of summer.
or the player wants to move to another club, club say no, player spits out dummy several times, club still says no, then, player plays for club that said no next season., possible eh??
indeed, it is all in cities hands with how they handle a player wishing to leave.

Re: Yaya Toure

This guy ia a complete and utter nob jockey - has completely wiped out any legacy at City and will just be remembered as a c*nt presumably looking for one last big pay day - greedy f*cker!!

Offer a straight swap for Falcao see if Monaco bite, flog Negredo and buy Vidal ....Yaya will probably not have another season like the last in him - I think we have seen the best of him!!

He's shown his true colours (complete tw*t) and I bet there are quite a few City players who will not be sad to see him leave either :-)
