Odd no mention of all this on the BBC coverage of Ivory Coast v Greece. It has made it on to teletext tho'.

That's because it has no relevance.

Re: Yaya Toure

I was thinking what if Yaya's claims are right, but then what was he doing in Qatar having treatment for his injured thigh if his priority was to be with his brother.

On the face of it none of this makes any sense, but perhaps its just an attempt to drive a wedge between club and player forcing City into selling him.

I'd keep him. They'll come a point where out of self interest he'll have to knuckle down and play

We had a similar issues with Tevez, and it worked out in the end. We need to be hard-nosed about this, and think what is in the best interests of the playing squad. In 2 seasons or so, his form will start to dip, so in the long term it wouldn't be a disaster tsell him, but if he goes our chances of retaining the title will be deminished

I cannot understand why people are believing the Sun all of a sudden. If the Sun prints "Aguero to Barca".
All hell breaks loose and everyone says what a load of shite they print. Now they are to be believed.
I know it's in other papers too, that still doesn't make it right. Anyway not complaining, gives me summat to
read when I get in from work ;-)

Read yaya quotes on page 666,his own words not his agent this time

And read the actual french article on Page 705. The british press have taken the comments out of context and are translations of the original French. He says City wanted him to go to Abu Dhabhi and that he didn't want to go but he went along with it anyway. i.e. We didn't force him he simply didn't object.

The real reason of course is because he was spending the next two weeks in Qatar at a health resort a short flight across the Persian Gulf and as such it wasn't out of his way.

...It's helpful to know for my future enjoyment of BBC Sports coverage that they only mentioned things that are relevant.

Re: Yaya Toure

A day ago and I'd have felt a bit bad for him over the result with Greece. No longer though. The way he has dragged the team through the mud -- he's got to go IMO. This should help speed up the process.
