Yaya Toure - commits future to City (page 855)

Re: Yaya Toure

Yaya Toure is at the point in his career where moving him on may be to the benefit of all parties. Clearly his agent wants one last big contract with City or with another club. That is the root of the problem. But is it worth it for City to hang on at all costs?

At 32 (give or take a year) he is not likely to get any better and could be on the point of a real downturn in his performances. Patrick Viera is an example here. I know he made a few decent cameo appearances for City but it was not the Viera of old.

City will probably stand firm unless someone offers silly money. However another Tevez situation will not be in anyones interest.

He stays, he goes, who gives a fuck, his brother has died,in the grand scheme of things football is really not that important! I'm not condoning his behaviour, he should just hand a transfer request in if he's determined to leave, but once again his brother has recently died and I know that if a close member of my family had died my head would be all over the place.
Correct. Player should be getting support - not rubbished.

Disappointed in the MEN just playing to the gallery

What do you expect them to do ? Its a big story, they can't ignore it and I don't think Brennan has said anything which is inaccurate, and he hasn't needlessly sensationalised it either.
The MEN do plenty that warrants criticism, but that article certainly does not.

He intertwined his brother's death with his status at the club, not the other way around. Assuming the allegations are untrue, I have no sympathy for how he conducted himself.

Why put pressure on the player? Should be left for the player and manager to sort out on his return.

Who's putting pressure on him ? This situation is entirely his own making. I think the MEN for once are being pretty reasonable about it.
Surely you can't expect them to just ignore it ? It's big news, even with the world cup going on, it's still a big story.
The most you can expect is for them to report it responsibly, which they have done so far.

I'd expect anyone who has any respect for the player to keep their mouths shut about this matter unless they truthfully know what is going on.

As they said
he's been through the emotional wringer, and his outbursts may simply be down to the irrational anger which causes many of us to lash out in bereavement.
He said this himself in his French football column and said he was angry at himself as well as City. So rather than pile on the pressure I think he should be able to resolve with his manager without being put under pressure to make statements, when he hasn't possibly worked out the problem.

Toure has shown nothing but disrespect for fans and the club. He has had more than enough time and enough chances to go on record and put things straight. His claims range from laughable to insulting to downright fucking lies.
You're being incredible gullible if you believe a word that comes out of his or his agents mouth.
Fuck him. I support Manchester City, not Yaya Toure.

How much does he want?

No way does he deserve Messi or Ronaldo money

Toure already earns 200k a week
