Do you guys actually believe we'd cash in?!

No way would we ever sell him IMO. Yes, we could fetch some money for him but how much really? A player that is on a huge wage, is 31 and WANTS to leave. I doubt we'd get more than £25-30M for him TBH.

I think this is more of an issue about principle. We are a top side and top sides don't sell their best players. If Yaya throws a hissy-fit and leaves, what does that mean for Kun, Dave or Komps? Could they just throw a hissy-fit and leave too? No player is bigger than a club but we are still early in our development and we don't want to give a negative message to the rest of the lads in the dressing-room.

I think keeping an unhappy Yaya would be a nightmare and probably not an option tbh.

Re: Yaya. The Ultimate Monster

One week he's on about racism, the next he's on about a birthday card - strange chap.
Oh well - back to the drawing board. Typical City and all that. At this rate we won't even have 21 players to name let alone 24.

Re: Yaya. The Ultimate Monster

This is crazy.

First he tweets only believe what he says, now he says his agent was right, so he was disrespected by the club, he is looking for a move maybe, Mansour "cant buy human feelings" etc?

He will have a statement after WC about what? That he stays? Why to wait until WC is over with that?

City PR team is as good as those Deloitte people we hired for avoid FFP punishments, worked out well didnt it?

Re: Yaya. The Ultimate Monster

If he really wants to go, he should have done it like a professional, and an adult. Spoken to Manuel, explained his situation, his desire for a new challenge, and he may have been granted his wish, leaving with his reputation and legend status intact.

If these tweets are true (sound dodgy to me) then all that is gone - he just looks like a big cry baby. Clarification from the big man is needed now, not after the World Cup

Re: Yaya. The Ultimate Monster

Terribly shameful if true. Incredibly childish reason for wanting to leave. I personally believe its just his agent wanting more money by drumming up interest in Yaya, but if this is all true...

Why should it be treated any differently than the Tevez saga?

If anything (if true) Yaya is acting more childish than Tevez did. And when this was Tevez, people were saying get rid because no one is bigger than the club. But now its Yaya everyone is saying how "irreplaceable" he is - which may be true but nobody is bigger than the club.

Despite all this FFP crap, City don't NEED to sell anyone and certainly don't need the money. Hold out, if a monstrous offer comes in, accept it. If other clubs to cash in on the situation and comes in with a pathetic offer of anything under £55 million for him reject it and make him suffer in the reserves until he's ready to apologise for his childishness.

City wished him a happy birthday on Twitter and on the plane to Abu Dhabi. All this is just his agent drumming up interest in him, that's for sure, but still bitterly disappointing.

Re: Yaya. The Ultimate Monster

We've all seen the petulant Yaya on the pitch, where goes into full on medieval beast mode at giving away a free kick that was, in fact, a foul.

This can't be surprising.

Let the dust settle and see if the situation changes, or let him go back to Barca, either way, City will just carry on.
