Just thought I would try and help it towards 500, mind you our RID (Rags in Disguise) will surely do that before 11am.

Meanwhile the Mods are all off to Blackpool (insert sill smiley face here)

Nothing will change for a while. He said he'd say more after the World Cup.

That's nice of him isn't it?!

I take it he means that he'll play out of his skin to really make Barça/Madrid/München want to buy him or the threat of that will make City offer him a new and improved contract?

What a great bloke! A proper down to Earth, humble guy!

Not everyone is a Yaya or Rooney. There are players like Silva Iniesta Kompany who seem pretty down to Earth for millionaire footballers.

I agree, but some of them are bound to be unbearable. It must be very difficult with that amount of wealth, power and adulation to remain grounded. I'm just surprised that people seem so surprised that a professional footballer can behave in this way. It's not like he hasn't got form.

I suppose I'm not surprised. For every Vincent or Silva there is a Rooney or Yaya, it's bound to happen isn't it? Especially with the agents these guys have.

Re: Yaya Toure

I havent read everything on this thread - lets face it I would probably have to take a week off work to do so!

But flicking through there is a lot of over the top comments, and abuse towards Yaya - I dont think anyone on here really knows exactly what is going on and why Seluk has said the things he has said, and equally why Yaya has backed up these comments.
If between them they are angling for a move away, or a better contract they have done so in a very strange way indeed.

If he wants to go, then so be it. We've had 4 excellent years from him, at the peak of his career, and when he first joined he made noises about returning to Barca and ending his career there some day so for him to want away (if thats what hes after) then it doesnt come as a huge surprise.

Some of the stuff written on here is similar to the things about Tevez when he went AWOL - and the two situations are a million miles apart in terms of severity.

Yes hes made himself a bit of a laughing stock with his/his agents strange and confusing comments - comments that could easily have been defused by Yaya himself, which I think is why we are feeling a bit let down by the man.

If hes still here next season, and I really hope he is myself, he will have some making up to do, and will have to put up with the inevitable abuse from opposition fans, but time is a great healer, and this situation Im sure can certainly be forgiven if not totally forgotten

Re: Yaya Toure

Can we just ignore these cocks bargaining F*** ups and concentrate on winning the champions league with the players who do want to play for the mighty blues.

It is bound to happen, I'm afraid.

It's not nice to see anyone behaving in such an ungracious and unbecoming manner, but many humans will use the power they wield as leverage to an extent that onlookers consider unappealing. It's always gone on and it always will.

It is a great credit to the likes of Silva, Iniesta, Kompany and De Gea, for example, that they remain relatively grounded, at least in terms of how they project themselves publicly. I suspect it's because they were brought up a particular way.

Re: Yaya Toure

Great comments from Vince coming up on SSN, taking the piss by saying he'd quit the Belgium team if he didn't get a big birthday cake.

Good lad.

Re: Yaya Toure

I wonder what the other players actually say to Yaya. I cannot imagine it being let go, especially the cake part. He should have the piss taken out of him

Re: Yaya Toure

It's all fine and well saying "sell him" but as has been evident over the last few days, his arrogance and petulant childishness could well manifest itself in a stand off where he doesn't actually want to go to PSG or Monaco. Then, we're left with someone who doesn't want to play for us who we can't get rid of to the tune of £220k a week.

In which case he needs to open up on what he actually wants and then it can be arranged, rather than let Borat do his talking for him.
