Yaya Toure [Merged]

De Jong is a very good player problem is he does most of the heavy lifting on his own in that city side.

Thought Barry was average to poor for large spells last season surely its his automatic place that is at risk ?

I can see the Yaya deal happening as it seems that like his brother he is happy to put money infront of champions league football and playing for one of the biggest sides in europe.

He will be :)

I dont think Barry was poor or average I think he did well and did a job for us . At the start of the season , Barry was absolutely fantastic then he did start to lose a bit of monetum and look tired casuing his performances to drop . I would never say he was poor , average , ok maybe but i remember barry had a rest for a a game due to illness he came back into the next game back to his best . perosnally i do believe due to playing all the time barry was tired and i think he could have been carrying an injury . But i do agree his place will be at risk if yaya comes , because de jong is a very good holding midfielder and its either him or barry imo and tbh for defensive purposes id pick de jong but barry would work alot better in that postion for the football we are trying to play

I definitely think the intention is to play 4-3-1-2 next season, he tried it last season for a few games but we didn’t have the players to play it effectively. It certainly wouldn’t surprise me to see Milner, Toure and Barry pulling the strings in midfield with Tevez floating just behind Adebayor and Ibrahimovic.

-------------Hart/Given

Boateng – Kompany – Lescott - Bridge/?

---------Milner – Toure – Barry

-----------------Tevez
---------Adebayor - Ibrahimovic
It woud only work if we had better full backs than Boateng and Bridge. Boateng is a centre back and Bridge is not good enough to be the sole source of width on the left hand side. We need our own versions of Maicon/Dani Alves and Cole/Evra. If we had full-backs like those, rather than Bridge and Boateng, the team you have suggested would be immense. Without quality attacking full-backs, the team you've mentioned would be shit.

Personally I think you're right (I'd much prefer to play two wingers and all out attack) but Mancini is a very defensive and well organised manager and I just think he'll set us up to grind out 1-0 wins next season. Football is very much about scoring the first goal these days (or not conceding the first goal in Mancini's mindset) and I think we will have to rely heavily on set pieces and quick counters to score goals. It'll be very much the Mourinho school of football, dull and boring but very effective.

Dimitri said that the departure of Ivory Coast may quit this week
he representative of Yaya Toure wants to talk to Rosell before closing a possible way out of the represented

The representative said that the situation of Touré "no problem" to anyone in particular. "Laporta, Rosell, Guardiola, el 98 por ciento de los socios, yo mismo, Touré... Todos queremos que se quede en Barcelona", manifestó. "Laporta, Rosell, Guardiola, 98 percent of the members, myself, Touré ... We all want to stay at Barcelona," he said.

The representative of Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure, Dimitri Selçuk, said he would wait to speak directly with the elected president, Sandro Rosell, before closing a possible way out of their club represented the Blaugrana.

"I have not talked to Rosell. Of course, out of respect for instance, is talk to him before he closes the situation. Laporta is the president until June 30, but I have to talk to Rosell and know your opinion, because it is the new president, "he said in remarks to COM Radio.

"Everything is perfect at least one thing: play 65 percent of the minutes is not enough for a player like Yaya, and just why we want to go"

In addition, the representative said that the situation of Touré "no problem" to anyone in particular. "Laporta, Rosell, Guardiola, 98 percent of the members, myself, Touré ... We all want to stay at Barcelona," he said.

However, remember that although the club is "one of the best clubs in the world" and that the city is pleased the Ivory Coast, said that if he fails, they will. "Everything is perfect at least one thing: play 65 percent of the minutes is not enough for a player like Yaya, and only for this reason that we want to go," he said.

nd not last long the decision."I think probably close the output Touré soon. Surely this week, but for now we can not announce anything," he said.

Why don't you get back to redcafe idiot.

Don't start coming out with the BS that you are a City fan, because I am sick of you saying that any decent player will only come here for money and lack ambition by coming to us.

yea them first four games or so he was awesome

after that he was an average premier league midfielder in my opinion.

LOL.

Any top player leaving the likes of Barca or Real to come to city does lack ambition and is only comming from the money IMO. Unless they cant get anywhere near the first team which I guess you could say about Yaya at the moment.

He was a great player 12 months ago that is not in doubt. Robinho burned our finges very very badlly so its quite hard to look at moves like this objectively at the moment.

you say that lacks ambition, but you could quite easily say that it's the other way round. the 'project' is much more ambitioius than staying at a club at the top. one or 2 knockout cup games is the difference between wining the CL and stalling in the semis/ final.

maybe wanting to take a club up what is arguably the hardest ascent, to the highest peak of football is real ambition? of couse wonga helps, but just a different view. loads of teams get close and fall away. ask everton fans, and probably tottenham fans come december!
