I think on the opening day it may end up something like the following, with most width coming from the full backs (with Johnson and SWP on the bench):

Y. Toure may hold abit(or it could be Barry) but will still make plenty of lung busting runs forward to join in and setup attacks

Could be right, I'd let Barry hold though, let Yaya do the running, he's got a better engine.

Its not certain he's signed yet, but if we did sign him then I think he would replace de Jong in a 4-4-2.

People are saying Barry is a box-to-box midfielder so therefore we dont need Toure, the idea is that in a 4-4-2 you have 2 box-to-box midfielders, so its not predictable which midfielder is going to attack/defend, they can both do it.

If it was up to me i'd play him in a 4-4-2 if we do end up signing him, with the midfield and strikeforce looking like this:

--Johnson--Yaya Toure--Barry--(new player)

I know you've said that's just your opinion but I don't think Mancini will play a flat 4-4-2 from the start of games very often next season, no top teams do nowadays.

Whoever we signed to play in that Arteta role they would have the time of their life playing infront of those 3 and behind those 2... hell it could be perfect for Robinho...
