Yaya Toure to Milan?

What we think or say makes no difference on the pitch and there Yaya has visibly lost the pace of games. Forever jogging around as the game speeds by him. Some nice cameo moments but that is all. He has been so good for us and I find it all a bit sad.

He was just as sharp as anyone in the recent games, playing further forward, pressing ,exactly as he was supposed to. No reason he can't do that for at least an hour every game, if Pep wants him to.

DeBruyne has already alluded to the fact many of us were talking about under the clown last season, that it's a lot easier making quick bursts to win the ball back, than long runs. That fucking idiot was putting old, unfit Yaya in a position where he had to run 60 yards regularly, if he was to do his job, so he just didn't do it & the team suffered.

Asking him to jog around with occasional 3 second sprints, in place of Silva etc, may well be quite easy for him. If he stays, I imagine Pep will soon test him on that & if he does it, he will be a key player. If not, he'll be banished to oblivion.

If he plays, I'll back him to score more goals than Silva.

Seeing some new vintage Yaya would be great.

It's too early to draw conclusions on any player, but Yaya has been in from the start and yet has been overlooked. That to me is a clear signal.
If Yaya wants to play football he needs to move on. If he prefers another big payday, he will hang around and see out his contract.
If City wants him to compete, Pep needs to get the best out of him and find out if Yaya is to be usefull. If City want to get rid, they need to help and find a solution maybe a loan with paying most of his salary.

Whatever happens with Yaya, I will remember him as one of the best midfielders around, and probably the most important player in a City-top to help us get where we are now.

You just have drawn conclusions on a player.

Your first line was correct imo. Wait & see. We don't know what Pep is doing & it could possibly be the case that he's telling the truth about Yaya.

We have just seen the world's worst left back play 90 mins like a 60 mil central defender.

Signals are no conclusions yet. Especially in football and especially with Pep. Signals were clear Ronaldinho and Deco were on their bike when Pep stepped in at Barca. The conclusion was they were.

We don't have anyone at the club in that situation, like Barca did.

Yaya has clearly knuckled down & tried to get fit. If he wants to stay, as he is entitled to, & is not going to leave, then it would be absolutely monumentally stupid, not to find out if he can be a good player for City this season, & sideline him just in order to be spiteful.

Pep is not spiteful, nor stupid, so if Yaya stays & trains well, Pep will have a look at him. Guaranteed.

Don't draw conclusions too soon mate.

Yaya has been training from the off. Yet Pep says he rather have young lads going to Bucharest so Yaya can do more training. Imho that is a clear SIGNAL that Yaya hasn't knuckled down as much as Guardiola wanted and hasn't profiled in friendlies as much as Pep wanted. But maybe Yaya needs more time to get where Pep wants him to be.

You say we don't have anyone in that situation. We do. Yaya and Nasri, coincidentally both close friends on and off the pitch. With Barca it was clear Ronaldinho and Deco were seen as great players, over the top and probably needing a clear challenge when Rijkaard was their manager. Pep however saw behind that and moved them on as soon as he knew they weren't ready for a change.

Btw, talking about SIGNALS ... the clearest of signals Pep gave to Yaya was when he brought in a crocked Gundogan, and picked Fernandinho as the clever player in the early trainingdays. But again ... maybe Yaya needs more time.

The comments from his agent to me seems like a cat and mouse affair.

His agent is saying Yaya is happy enough to stay and fight, this could possibly be to force the hand of city. ie. letting him know he is no longer in the plans, then they can say the club treated him poorly and forced him out etc..

City on the other hand, by leaving him out are maybe hoping he throws the toys out of the pram and forces a move away.

Either way the issue needs to be sorted. Not my money but I know if I was running a business and had something costing me £200k a week without getting any return I wouldn't be happy about the situation. Not involved in the first game or part of our most important game of the full season tells me what Pep has in plan for Yaya.

Yaya clearly not fit enough for Pep, based on his comments that he was not included for the Sunderland game because they wanted to play a pressing game. Yaya stands to make £Millions for putting on a good show this season and by the New Year he can talk to whomever his sleazy agent wants!

Millions of Chinese RMB anyone?!

That said, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he did a job in the Ferna role (ball player who can slide back in between the centre halves) at times. Yaya's biggest problem seems to be that he doesn't have the DESIRE to put in the required shift on a daily basis, because he clearly still has the skills.
I think he could have had the millions of RMB's already, if he wanted it. There will have been plenty of opportunities for a Chinese contract this summer already. It seems to me that Yaya is getting his self assessment wrong. He seems to think he can still play a dominating role in a major European league, and continue to command his high salary. I disagree. I think his time is over, and it would seem that I am not alone in that assessment given that he has not yet secured the kind of contract he expects anywhere. I think he should go as I think his ego will make him a negative influence in the dressing rom.
