Don't draw conclusions too soon mate.
Yaya has been training from the off. Yet Pep says he rather have young lads going to Bucharest so Yaya can do more training. Imho that is a clear SIGNAL that Yaya hasn't knuckled down as much as Guardiola wanted and hasn't profiled in friendlies as much as Pep wanted. But maybe Yaya needs more time to get where Pep wants him to be.
You say we don't have anyone in that situation. We do. Yaya and Nasri, coincidentally both close friends on and off the pitch. With Barca it was clear Ronaldinho and Deco were seen as great players, over the top and probably needing a clear challenge when Rijkaard was their manager. Pep however saw behind that and moved them on as soon as he knew they weren't ready for a change.
Btw, talking about SIGNALS ... the clearest of signals Pep gave to Yaya was when he brought in a crocked Gundogan, and picked Fernandinho as the clever player in the early trainingdays. But again ... maybe Yaya needs more time.
