Yaya Toure

I sat in the away end yesterday and I was shocked and amused by the absolute fear that Toure instilled into those sat around me.

Every time he got the ball there was a collective holding of breaths. One bloke said "he's behind only Messi and Ronaldo", another said "I'd trade half our squad for this guy" and another said "I just close my eyes every time he gets the ball".

To be honest I'm the first to criticise him for being lazy, so I was genuinely quite amazed to see fans from an opposing team scared stiff.

Go and ask any fan from any team in England who they would want in central midfield out of every English team and I guarantee more than 90% will say Yaya.

Yaya is a great player that's what is so infuriating, we all know he can really turn it on! But today was a shit day and one he choose not to play in untill the 85 min!

He had a shocker today.
 
Looked very leggy and behind the play at times. Hopefully rumours of a good centre mid in January are true and Toure can be rested occasionally.
 
No Yaya no trophies.

No player has everything. I'll take what Yaya offers every day of the week. Best player I've ever seen in a city shirt.

Our second highest scorer and not even a striker. Sublime free kicks. Best passer in the PL statistically. Yaya have a wander about on me son ;-)
 
He is being overused. A 30-year-old with his physique and style should be getting every 2nd or 3rd game off.

If it's true we're signing a well known midfielder in January from abroad, we may finally get to rest him more.

He is still a top-class player, we just need to start using him more carefully. He's not an old man, but the English football schedule is brutal even on a young man, nevermind a big 30-year-old.

There's a thread on the transfer forum about it... some popular names are Matic (City already had cash + Garcia turned down for him), Matuidi, Alonso and Lass Diarra.

Alonso three or four years agoi without doubt dont really fancy him now - Khedeirea would be different gravy

Bang on. A fully fit sharp Yaya is still going to need Fernandinho doing a man and a halves worth of work, but a knackered played twice a week Yaya is asking way too much. Some proper quality in that position in January if true could be the difference between trophies and nothing.
