Yaya Toure

Yaya's game evolved, as for every player when your physical abilities tarnishes while getting older.
His fitness reached a peak two seasons ago, and now he will enter the twilight of his career.
He still has three or four good years in him, and as for all great mid fielders, he reached the age where his experience
will make up for his lack of fitness prowess.
It is up to Pellets to bring in the adequate partnership to take the full advantage of Yaya's attacking abilities while giving him
a lesser important role in defence.

He's never really excelled for long periods at a time. But you can always count on him to have one world class moment. Next to Kompany and Silva he is the most sure footed player our team. Hopefully we can find another midfielder to partner him and Dinho. I see a future where he places similar to Pirlo or Scholars (gag). In which he plays deep in possession and pushes up off the ball (whilst Dinho drops deeper).

I don't think right now Yaya is at his best, and i would drop him, Yaya is just not playing as he can or i hope he can, we don't have his runs that no one can stop just now, he needs a rest and he needs to get his form back, we have other players and it's about time we used them.

This is the same Yaya that has scored 9 goals this season ?

I think dropping him is a bit much....

What other players ?
Milner been playing great recently but he`s no yaya

Lol @ even thinking about dropping Yaya. Never would think a "washed up" player would impact a winning side as much as he does.

What the hell are some of you smoking?

Absoluts bollocks. A player that EVERY other premier league club would kill for and yet we still get muppets coming out with garbage like this

Most passes completed of any midfielder in the Premier League (1237).

Most goals scored of any midfielder in the Premier League (9).

Nominated for FIFA Ballon d'Or.

Nominated for FIFPro World XI.

Named in L'Equipe Team of 2013, one of only two Premier League players along with Kompany.

BBC African Footballer of the Year for 2013.

On the 10-man shortlist for CAF African Footballer of the Year for 2013 (TBA January 9th).

And some of our fans think he's not good enough or should be dropped. YCNMIU.

Yaya hasn't lost form and he isn't getting too old. He is a colossus in our midfield, hence a colossus in every game he plays. He's always available despite being man marked most games. Having some opposition player snapping at his heels never fazes him. He takes the ball despite this and always finds a blue shirt with his passes. He dictates the play. We are a poorer team without him. He is the African player of the year for a reason. Everyone would want him. Did I mention he's managed to get into double figures with all his goals this year? Appreciate what he does. It is truly skillfull and beautiful to watch.

I wouldn't 'drop him' as such but I defo think he needs a rest for whatever reason and I'd save him for the swansea game if possible

YaYa is the man!

Speaking to mates who are fans of many other clubs ( WBA, villa, Liverpool, Everton, them, Blackburn, plus countless others) they see what I see, a colossus who scares the shit out of the opposition

You see it on the tunnel cam. Lining up opposite him the opposition must think they're in for a tough, nightmare of a game
Glad he's on our side rather than up against him

Love YaYa!!!!

Yaya's position is a cam in reality were he is world class, the problem is him playing as a cm alongside fernadinho and not intercepting balls or tackling opposition players

Yes he's vital to our success however he's only human does need a rest it worked today, but just going off topic I'd rather have rodwell over Garcia any time

He can attack. Everyone agrees. The problem is that he can't defend. Maybe he should not be playing alongside Fernandinho. Maybe he should be playing behind the striker.
