A friend who's an Arsenal fan says he's better than "a prime Viera". That's some compliment that I wouldn't disagree with. Attacking wise he's an unstoppable beast.
I'd disagree only marginally mind but he's definitely more accomplished in front of goal.
Fair enough but if Yaya played in the attacking way he does now 4/5 years ago he'd have been even better that's the scary thing.

Best midfielder we have ever had..

sorry Bell
Disagree. He's certainly the most influential player we've had since Bell, but Bell covered much more ground, scored many more goals, and tackled and tracked-back to far better effect - and he did that in 9 games out of 10. But Toure's not far behind and my favourite player since Bell, although Negredo's giving him a run for his money this season.

-- Sun Jan 19, 2014 12:34 am --

I love how unpredictable he is. You never know which Yaya will turn up and, in a way, its what makes him the player he is. Today, he was quality. Made me laugh that he was so pissed off at losing possession, he decided he'd score. That passage of play sums the guy up. Love him.
I noticed that too. He scored an 'angry' goal.

his defending was poor.

he was instrumental in the attack.
His defending is always pretty poor though. He's a player for when we have the ball, not for when we dont. Thats Fernandinho/Garcia.

Spot on.I wish people would stop prattling on about Yaya's defensive responsibilities.

HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY.

His job is to be free and available when the rest of the team win the ball back, and get it to the first player open.

I disagree.

Even Manuel told the press that Yaya's job is to attack AND defend. Yaya has problems with positioning, closing down, intercepting and tackling. We can overlook this because he provides so much in the attack.

Viera ? lol.

Yaya is on a different level. Viera was just a holding midfielder.

In the history of football, there are very few players like Toure.

He was different class today. Had a hand in 3 of the 4 goals. One of the best players I have ever seen.

I've always realised how good Yaya can be but at times over the past few years he's really frustrated me too. For some reason this year when I watch him I just appreciate the absolute phenomenon I'm watching on a weekly basis. I know it's not just or all about this but think about the utter shite we've watched at times in our midfield. We are now watching someone with miles more ability than both Keane anld Viera playing for City. Fucking ludicrous!

My favourite yaya moment of the season by far.

He is what he is.

No coincidence that he is universally admired from outside the club.

He'll never run like a Dickov or Milner. Just enjoy his unstoppable bursts, his fabulous eye for a pass and his big game temperament.
