Yaya's goal clocked at 57.2mph from 33.5 yds out - definitely wasn't a cross. Nasri's scorcher was 67.5mph from 19.8 yds out.

whilst nasri's shot was indeed a pearler, the actual hardest ever recorded shot is 130mph i believe!!??!

Bloody hell....that would kill anyone that got in the way....that's surely not right is it ?
Wasn't that Ashley Williams shot against RVP's head - according to Slur Alex?

Jeez.....that is unreal. It's faster than Wimbledon serves !

I haven't heard anyone complaining about it being a cross except those seething with jealousy that we pocketed the silverware on Sunday. As someone posted earlier, he was in centre field facing goal, so there was nobody to cross it to.

our Aleks has broken a couple of bones and hit a ref so hard in the head with a ball they had to bring the sub ref on.

If you hit a ball from 18 yards rather than 35, it stands to reason it's going to be a lot faster as it has less air friction .

Yaya's effort was as much about trajectory though. The arc of the ball makes it impossible to save, same as his free kicks. It's a fantastic technique & some of our other players should be trying to learn it from him.

Apparently Nasri is the one that taught him it, maybe he should be shooting more?

I think they all should.

If you look at how deep teams like Sunderland are defending against us, I think actually finding a free man to take a shot should be the number one priority, rather than looking at crossing or passing through it as a first objective.

When we defended like that at Real Madrid, they just kept hammering the ball in & we went pretty much to pieces because of it because we had to come out to try & stop the shots, on another day could have conceded ten. When we parked the bus v Barca however, they tried to flick their way through & created absolutely nothing until Demich went walkabout.

If we played like that v Bayern, it would most likely be a 20/25 yarder from Robben etc which causes the first goal.

We have a whole bunch of players who can shoot, but don't seem to be looking for a shooting opportunity. We just do it when we can't think of anything else.

Good shout, I dont think it is a 'fluke'. Far from it, it just displays what an absolutely incredible player Yaya is.

Definately no fluke - he has a little look up to see where the keeper is as zab is passing him the ball back-
Fully meant and executed to PERFECTION !!
