You don't choose a black character for your fancy dress when you are not black.it's not as though there are not millions of white characters that would be more appropriate. Talk of its only a joke and those offended should man up is at its best showing no respect. So how do people feel about “blackface”, another cricketer has to apologise as he went to a fancy dress as Tupac, his music hero! It’s a fancy dress for fucks sake, no point in going as a white Tupac is there? If me and my mates went as the A team and one went blacked up as Mr T is he racist, that’s the character, what next you can’t white up if you want to go as a clown!

Yeah I do, its a shame everyone has missed mine.
How much respect would you have for the burglar if the burgled burglar told you he had been burgled but was a burglar himself? (that was admittedly less fun to say)
Now throw in that you discover he had once burgled your own family members house. As I say, it hits home slightly different when the comments that were made are about people like your own self.

I suppose I could go as Michael Jackson from the 90s then ;)You don't choose a black character for your fancy dress when you are not black.it's not as though there are not millions of white characters that would be more appropriate. Traditional English dancers used to black up in a nod to supposed Moorish origins of Morris dancing. It has become the norm for troupes now to adopt an alternative. Blue is popular and it is hoped there are no aliens amongst us (Prop. Elon Musk) who are offended.“Blackface” has been socially unacceptable for quite some time tbf.
No it doesn’t.Ah that’s pretty damning. Inexcusable bigotry, which now taints the point he’s making (imo).
I think they should both be criticized and condemned, but as separate issues. I think the racism issue is more prevalent though, and appears institutionalised. A lot more anti-semitism might need to be uncovered for that to be considered to be institutionalised.I see. He's raised an issue of racism so his former anti-semitism shouldn't be criticised?
Yeah, true. I remember David Baddiel doing it on Fantasy Football too. It’s now seen (quite rightly) as socially unacceptable, although you only need to go back ten years and David Walliams was still doing it on prime time tv.
