Yorkshire Cricket Club

Perhaps you would be so kind as to give an overview.... ?

Alex Lees and Jason Gillespie persuaded him to return. Gillespie had stamped out the racism in the dressing room.

July 2017 Gillespie left. Andrew Gale becomes coach. August 2017 Rashid reports racism to Yorkshire.

But seriously, just go read a few articles on the case. I'm not sure why you've adopted the approach of throwing out a load of speculative, sometimes completely wrong, accusations and then make the rest of the forum correct you.

Statement from...pretty much everyone

Proof will be in the pudding. There needs to be a robust complaints system for different issues within the ECB. How Rafiq wasn’t listened to is a disgrace, the ECB should have ripped YCCC a new one a long time ago.

I posted this earlier:

Needed to get paid to support his family, and Derbyshire couldn't pay. Believes he was in denial about what was going on.

Also, in his own words here:

(summarises to: seemed different when he went back with a well disposed coach Jason Gillespie. Then both left, and the existing captain Gale became coach with Ballance becoming captain. It went downhill from there)

They need to actually start doing things. I'm not sure how or why Andrew Gale is still a YCCC employee. 4 employees have testified at an employment tribunal a year ago that he constantly racially abused them and other players. Azeem Rafiq, Tino Best, Rana Naveed-ul-Hassan and Taj Butt.

Another, Adil Rashid, has said he gave up playing country and test cricket because of Gale's racism.

How many more statements are we going to get before the racist head coach actually goes as a first step?

The ECB needs to step in. There’s no way Gale can continue in any capacity of leadership within the game.

No international fixtures and sponsors ditching them should be enough encouragement for them to get their house in order. Surely not even Yorkshiremen are that stubborn :)
