Yorkshire Cricket Club

You don't know Yorkshiremen. In my long experience of them, they make mules look as flexible and modern as graphene.
This weekend marks my 22nd anniversary of living on the sunnier side of the Pennines I know them only too well!

No international fixtures and sponsors ditching them should be enough encouragement for them to get their house in order. Surely not even Yorkshiremen are that stubborn :)
They have just been suspended from international fixtures until summer when they have 2 games, as they are still selling tickets.

Like the ginger cheat boxer getting a 6 month ban for doping when he only fights twice a year, token gesture.

Sure they have to follow it up to make it meaningful. It was in response to a post about 'stepping in' and the reality is unlike Football it's the international game that pays the bills. The ECB, or whichever acronym replaces it (I'm old school TCCB is good for me) doesn't need to get all authoritarian because along with the sponsors they hold a greater degree of control over the purse strings.
It's like comparing the Graves trust to the Glazer foundation ..... sounds like a celebrity edition of Family Fortunes..

Yes, it had crossed my mind that it could be that. As I'm sure you are aware It's a common practice of East Asian students in Western universities, but they usually pick their own names.

Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff is an example of someone more known by a nickname given to them, it is a play on his name's resemblance to Fred Flintsone. Not insulting or offensive but if he felt it was demeaning and not serious and had asked not to be called it all those years ago, I would hope people would have been polite enough to respect his wishes.

However, these considerations are all irrelevant, because Jack Brooks has already admitted using the name in the alleged context and apologised for it.

Coincidentally, I was walking past the stadium today and saw a TV van (with satellite transmitter) and camera man setting up and assumed it was something to do with this.

Where do you live mate? I work quite near Somerset's ground.

I live in Taunton.
I work in Taunton, although I am back home in Newton Heath for a week or so. I am buying a house in Compton Dundon and currently renting a room in Shepton Beauchamp.
I got some funny looks while wearing my 2011 City top, with Tevez on the back, when walking round the Asda on Creechbarrow Rd this morning.

Probably people off the nearby estate, quite a few going shopping in their Pyjamas.

Fixtures are normally out in November and normally out grounds are stipulated too to accommodate England fixtures or spread a few games around the historic county boundaries. Therefore I would have expected new venues to be announced very soon for the NZ test and SA one dayer, and not continuing to sell tickets for the test match as it isn't sold out.

Call me a cynic, but the suspension isn't serious - yet. Never been a fan of the ECB, they have the whip hand over the counties, steal the best players and then force counties to play then when out of form or in recovery costing them. Take the best bowlers for net practice but not play them, and suspend a golden boy county without them actually losing any games.
