I'm starting to feel gutted about this club and it's values. This might make me sound like a rag, but what players have we got that have grown up in Manchester, grown up with Manchester City football club, and know how much derbies like today mean? United had Scholes, Giggs and neville out there today, albeit Giggs is a welsh illigitimate cnut. But what players can we boast that have the same passion, desire and commitment and to know what it feels to the fans when coming into big games like these? We have Onouha, SWP and Ireland in our squad what probably know what it means to the fans, two of them under the age of 25... one started. I'm all for playing players on form, and A.Johnson and Bellamy have been great for us, but I would of stuck SWP in from the start for either one. It's a risk I'll take, he knows about the Manchester derby, what it holds to the fans. The moral of this post is to say over the tenure of say.. About 10 years? We've never really had a player that has stayed in the first 11 and been an important player for us for at least a decade, and that is something we lack at the moment, a real leader, a leader that knows the club, it's values and loves the fans.
You could argue de Jong, Kompany and Ade played their all today, but when doesn't de Jong and Vinny? Both would play their heart out for any club their at. Ade's a bit subject to inconsistency, and to make it to the top, your going to need your focal points of the team remaining consistent, and be able to replace the inconsistency with quality. Which we don't yet have.. Even after spending 200mil plus.
I just hope Mancini can bring us sucess, I really believe it should still be Hughes in the hot seat, but I'll support any manager managing the blues.
This is probably my first every serious post.. Might cus I'm a bit pissed. But be nice please.
Xx
