£45,000 for a 22-year-old that they want to sign to an extension when he could earn more money at City in a more competative league. I'm not sure that they are doing all tha they can do in order to retain this player.

Very true, and I agree completely. However if he does sign it would bump up the transfer fee were we to go in for him at a later stage.
