Your best ever film

Good shout.

And Ben Kingsley as Don Logan is my favourite film baddie. Really terrifying.
He was, I actually sat there and thought, if I was in Ray Winston’s shoes now, this fucker would ‘have to go’, quite simply there was no reasoning or getting through to him, on any level, maybe that was very much the intended narrative, but to act it and leave the viewer in doubt was quite superb acting imo.

Almost impossible to name just one.

Has to be 'The Godfather' if just one which is a bit predictable but it is a work of genius as is II.

If I can mention one other it would be 'Some like it hot" which is comedy perfection.
Agree about Some Like it Hot still my favourite ever comedy.
Is the Godfather really predictable or is it that it has so many immitators have copied it?

Haven't read the whole thread but has anyone mentioned 'Chinatown' an absolute classic thriller.

Numerous favorites. In no particular order:

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Patton
The Wizard of Oz
Star Wars

The scene with the ‘no-yes’ back and forth is chilling. Making Ray Winston the victim was clever considering he’d been typecast as the tough guy up until and probably since then. The opening scene with the falling boulder is also brilliant.
Ian McShane's cameo as the 'big boss' in this was also chilling....I think he got Deadwood off the back of that performance...
