Agree about Some Like it Hot still my favourite ever comedy.
Is the Godfather really predictable or is it that it has so many immitators have copied it?

I meant it is high on everyones list of best ever films so its not an obscure or edgy pick.
Its on everyones list because it is so bloody good as is the sequel.

Fair enough it would be a boring world if we all liked the same films. I do like Airplane! as well though.
There have been a few other films mentioned here that I'm not that keen on.

Ian McShane's cameo as the 'big boss' in this was also chilling....I think he got Deadwood off the back of that performance...

Deadwood was also very good. Lots of the characters were based on real folk including his. He also did American gods which was an ocean away from lovejoy.

That's one of the things I like. They actually do a non extended version of each which which is 45 minutes shorter.

The longer extended version do the books more justice.
