Never really liked any of my holidays in Europe but the one that stands out is
San Blas Hotel in Los Abrigos, Tenerife.

Guaranteed sunshine , blue seas , great people and cisk beer happy days !!
My dad tells him to stick your beer up your arse and walks out, though he did say once his eyes had adjusted to the bar light it was like that Stretford superstore in there.
This all day long.
The locals just want to fleece you,the food is dreadful, and the beaches are virtually non-existent.
You could replicate a holiday here simply by staying at home, hiring a sunbed, filling the fridge with ale and having a stroppy missus throw badly-cooked chips at you twice a day.
The smaller Greek islands are always a fair bet,and maybe a bit cheaper now given their current economic woes.
Good shout also from those suggesting Andalucia.
Some of the smaller villages in the Sierra Nevada mountains are beautiful.
Remember going about 10 years ago to bujeba with an old ex thought we would give it a whirl, went down to the beach and just seen a big fuckin rock carried on walking and rock after fuckin rock,a shithole with no sand...nijinsky's fetlocks said:waterloo blue said:Fuck Malta it's full of rags,my old man and his missus went a couple of years ago and he's mooching about, into a bar and the bloke tells him it's the headquaters of the rags supporters club.cinnamon blue said:Mellihia , Malta . I went to Malta twice when I was 9 and 11. My first 2 holidays abroad. The first time we went we stayed in an absolute shithole of a place in St.Julians (I think they were old army barracks) but enjoyed it all the same. The second time was in Sliema and the digs were miles better. Again, I had a great time but that was 30-odd years ago and I was only a kid. I haven't been back since and I guess I'd be disappointed if I was to go back now.
I'd recommend Alvor in Portugal and Ovacik/Hisaronu in Turkey. I wouldn't say either of them are spectacular places but they left a decent enough impression on me.
For city breaks I don't think you can go far wrong with Prague, Krakow, and Budapest. Plenty of sightseeing and none of them are overly expensive.
New York is the best city I've ever visited though. Las Vegas is a blast too.
I think it's worth pointing out that there are plenty of places on home soil that stand up well. It's just a shame that the weather isn't all that.

Not good news for my foreman. He's off to Malta next month. He's a bolton fan and absolutely despises the rags ( walks around the factory singing munich songs ).waterloo blue said:Fuck Malta it's full of rags,my old man and his missus went a couple of years ago and he's mooching about, into a bar and the bloke tells him it's the headquaters of the rags supporters club.cinnamon blue said:Mellihia , Malta .
